We have a reservation for January and were trying to reach the hotel for weeks via email and phone but no respond at all. Then today we received an answer that the hotel is closed but we were still able to book/pay for it and there is not even a disclaimer on the website informing interested guests about it. Even the travel agency was not informed until today that the hotel is closed (which seems to be the case for a longer period and not just since today as stated in the hotel email we received). We are currently in Dubai and were closely monitoring travel restriction in UAE & Oman, plus tried to coordinate with the hotels (which was not possible with Six Senses Zighy Bay). The current situation is difficult for everyone but we are really puzzled how bad this is managed by Six Senses Zighy Bay as this causes unnecessary efforts and frustration. A simple disclaimer would have worked for us. …
For our anniversary, we decided to celebrate in Zighy Bay Six Senses, Oman. Only 2 hours drive from DUBAI, this was the perfect weekend getaway to a location that is so special that upon entering the property, we had to stop a few minutes to take all the beautiful views in properly. The hotel is hidden behind a mountain in a quiet bay and you have a steep 5 min drive down to the resort. For the more adventurous types, you can take a paraglide down the mountain to the hotel! Upon entering the resort, you immediately feel the relaxation and calmness from most Six Senses properties. We booked a one bedroom beach villa with a pool, which was perfect considering the temperature during that time was extremely hot. For the next three days, we spend more time in the water snorkeling in one once the best places in the Gulf. We saw everything from turtles to dolphins thanks to the hotel arranging a boat to take us around the best spots. We even got a tour of the most beautiful caves on the coastline. Back at the hotel, we visited their camel stables in the afternoon to feed the camels and also had an amazing couples massage. We loved the restaurant at top of the resort with a view of the entire property and coastline. Definitely try the Omani Lobster, highly recommended.…
Don’t miss out on a few days at Zighy Bay - faultless understated excellence. Staff & facilities & restaurants are wonderful. Make sure you take the hotel boat to the local fish market early in the evening and enjoy the local auctions of the catch of the fishing boats coming in
Came to celebrate my birthday and had an amazing time! From beginning to end everything was more than perfect. The food was delicious, the villa was very private and clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful etc... I recommend this resort 300% Loved the experience and will definitely come back
Absolutely nothing to complain about it just seemed to lack the "wow" factor that one comes to expect from similar hotels/resorts. The staff were very friendly and the food accommodation and facilities were all fine.
