Six Senses Zighy Bay is frequently celebrated for its exceptional service, with staff members who are professional, attentive, and warm, though there can be a dip in service during peak periods. The hotel's cleanliness, especially the immaculate beach, is often praised, despite occasional remarks on the need for more thorough room cleaning. Nestled between mountains and sea, the location is described as 'heaven on earth' by guests, who also enjoy the resort's extensive amenities like private pools and adventurous activities. However, opinions on the atmosphere and room decor range from stylish to outdated, with some guests questioning the value due to high food and additional costs.

Impeccable and unique resort - isolated and private. Relaxed and informal. Outstanding hosts look after your need. Superb and healthy food - exquisite suites with private pools and liberating outdoor showers
There is no place quite as special as Zighy Bay

if your looking for a super relaxing time by the sea without a budget that’s it!! amazing beach shore in between mountains, the hotel is made to fit the nature and it looks like a bedouin village with all the little details. designed in a way that you don’t feel the other guests and you have a tendency to feel your alone! each room has a private pool and very personolized service. no music in all the resort so you can really enjoy the surroundings and all guest respect it
the food is not worth the price you pay and could be worked on a bit but the staff super friendly and good
they also have a nice spa and gym room

For our anniversary, we decided to celebrate in Zighy Bay Six Senses, Oman. Only 2 hours drive from DUBAI, this was the perfect weekend getaway to a location that is so special that upon entering the property, we had to stop a few minutes to take all the beautiful views in properly. The hotel is hidden behind a mountain in a quiet bay and you have a steep 5 min drive down to the resort. For the more adventurous types, you can take a paraglide down the mountain to the hotel! Upon entering the resort, you immediately feel the relaxation and calmness from most Six Senses properties. We booked a one bedroom beach villa with a pool, which was perfect considering the temperature during that time was extremely hot. For the next three days, we spend more time in the water snorkeling in one once the best places in the Gulf. We saw everything from turtles to dolphins thanks to the hotel arranging a boat to take us around the best spots. We even got a tour of the most beautiful caves on the coastline. Back at the hotel, we visited their camel stables in the afternoon to feed the camels and also had an amazing couples massage. We loved the restaurant at top of the resort with a view of the entire property and coastline. Definitely try the Omani Lobster, highly recommended.

Lovely location, facility and staff.
We read all the reviews and went there prepared for the exorbitant expense. It was our first stay at a Six Senses and were really looking forward to it, especially since the two weeks previously we had spent trekking to Everest Base Camp. We were expecting a zen like quality to the facility, as Six Senses goes out of their way to promote their spas, private plunge pools, etc., etc. What they don’t emphasize, nor did I see anything about it in the reviews, was the fact that they also provide a lot of facilities and activities for children. The place was teeming with children under the age of eight! They were all well behaved for the most part, doing children under the age of eight kind of things, but that doesn’t allow you quiet time by the pool, on the beach, or even, unfortunately, at your villa with the plunge pool, when your neighboring villa’s children are playing in theirs, or worse, curious about your pool, and scaling the privacy fence to see what’s on your side! Like I said, just doing harmless kid stuff, but it didn’t make the atmosphere very zen. We did, unfortunately, pick a stay when the UK and Germany had school holidays, but the staff indicated that there are a large number of families that visit there regularly. We went almost immediately to the front desk, told them we realized we had made a huge mistake, and could we please depart and have our money back, but departing would have meant forfeiting the monies we had spent on a four night stay. They did offer to move us to another villa that would provide us with one day of childless neighbors, but packing up everything and making the move seemed almost as disruptive.
I personally won’t return to Six Senses Zighy Bay, but if you have the money and children, it’s a great place.
Respectfully submitted - an admittedly cranky old lady

Dear HML, Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time sharing your review. I do apologies if you found the resort was filled with children. We market ourselves as a family-friendly resort and we have quite a number of repeaters who appreciate the fact we welcome a family with children. It is very unfortunate that you were not fully aware and I can fully understand the disappointment you experienced. My team did their best to ensure you will be provided with the option to move to a villa away from children and perhaps change your perception. Once again please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience you had. I hope this will not deter you from visiting us again and giving us another chance to serve you in the near future. Sincerely, Aaron McGrath General Manager

We (family of 4 with 2 adult children) visited for the 3rd time in late April and enjoyed another superb and relaxing holiday. The temperature was mid 30 degrees so not too hot!. From the moment we were collected from Dubai by the hotel car to the moment we departed we were able to enjoy every moment of the holiday. Why?

Location. Our beachfront villa (15) enjoyed excellent views of the sea . The 2 rooms were kept spotless by the housekeepers in the morning and the evening. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning kept the room at our optimal temperature. The 2 rooms each enjoyed their own inside and outside showers and one had a bath (not needed). The outside pool provided wonderful views of the sea .We were a short walk to the main restaurants.

Staff and personal concierge. Era was our superb and dedicated concierge and booked all our activities and restaurants each day and also made sure any requests were actioned via Whats App efficiently and expediently (extra sunbed etc). She made sure we enjoyed our holiday and made it hassle free. All the restaurant staff including Chris and Sourej (Summer House) are charming and friendly and help create a relaxed happy ambience with a background of laughter. The Housekeepers , Roz and Mammoud, were also constantly smiling and friendly. Six Senses treat their staff well and that is obvious from the way they all interface with the guests.
Food. A wide choice with some highlights notably the buffets including breakfast which helpfully ends at 10.30 giving the Owls in the family time to make an appearance.
Activities. Snorkelling (2 hours) with Julia was excellent and also the Dhow sunset cruises.
We all returned home discussing another visit next year!
Wonderful....thank you

ps the microlight plane is something you should consider removing from the resort please.

We loved our time here. The whole place is geared towards R&R and they have clearly given enormous thought into making your stay as stress free as possible. Having one point of contact to ask anything of (via whatsapp if you want) is so practical and having them check in with you over breakfast to fill you in about the days events was a great setup.
The pools are the perfect temerature, the staff are all lovely, the kids club has a range activitires (we have 2 girls 3,5). In short you are spoiled so rotten, that the prospect of coming home and looking at a dishwasher feels so far beneath you by the end.
The only think you could moan about, if you reallly wanted to, would be things that are outside the hotels control, such as that it can get really hot (north of 35 when we went in end March) during the middle of the day or that the marine life is not quite maldives quality.
The food was amongst the best I've come across, always varied, always fresh and often made in front of you. Top top notch.
All in all, we had a whale of time and will definitely be going back. Thank you to all the staff for making our trip so special.

We have been here for the first time and stayed a full week. Summary:

1) The approach road itself is already quite a stunner, across a steep mountain ridge and down again into the bay. The bungalow itself is nice, yet today you´ll find many resorts with facilities as they are here. Few observations though:
a) the aircons are a bit older and quite noisy as they have to cool the entire space, means bedroom and living room.
b) The toilet "space" is a bit cramped.
The best about the bungalows is the outer area: a table (ready for breakfast or dinner), two lounge chairs, and of course the small pool. Water was perfectly clear, temperatur just ideal. No complaints.
Two bicyes could be used by the residents whenever needed / wanted.

2) Beach: fine sand. About 150 m from shore a floating barrier prevents garbage to flow in, that also reduces the waves. Nothing for snorkeling though, as there is simply nothing to see except sand.

3) activities: had one flight with a macrolight and one with a paraglider. Both fascinating, instructor was great. Fishing: yes, went fishing with a speedboat about half an hour north and caught three dinner-sized fish. Brought them back and chef sunil prepared them for same day dinner at one of the restaurants. Great!! We did not do the snorkeling trip (also by boat).

4) Spa: still understaffed right now after re-opening. Great spa though, was there twice and enjoyed the treatments.

5) Food: amazing what they offer for such a remote location. We know that some of their raw materials come from their own farm at dibba (we have been there and were toured around); still, it is impressive what choice they offer for breakfast or dinner.

BEST PART: by far the best part were the people working here. EACH and everyone of them was friendly, tried to read our minds and really worked hard to make our stay special. Special thanks to those that made our "special dinner" on the beach, to the bulgarian flight instructor, to our friend who has shown us Dibba, to the ladies at Zighy Bar and to our GEM Julius. All of them created a special atmosphere - easy and relaxed, always ready for a chat and yet taking care of us every moment.

So, 7 out of 5 stars for the staff, 6 for the food.

Incredible location, remote and raw natural beauty. The resort is beautiful but the service was just not up to standard. Also some things getting slightly old, the aircon in the room was loud and impossible to adjust. Had to wait ages before being served, breakfast was a total zoo with tables dirty and not enough clean tables for guests, there were not enough loungers by 9.30 am , there’s simply not enough for the amount of guests, asked to have 2 and took more than one hour to get them. There is a 25% extra taxes on everything…if you are charging what they are I expect a totally different type of service. We went to the Atlantis in Dubai straight after and even if completely different concept you can tell they know what customer service and good management is. Even with the volumes they have there’s constantly someone there to attend guests.

On the positive the beach is a dream, the location is just out of this world, their whazup Gem service works pretty well, they have plenty of activities every day and the quality of the food is really good with a lot of healthy and vegetarian options.

We went over the autumn school break which might explain the fact that staff was overwhelmed but still the service was by no means 5star.

Dear E292RRvalentinap, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. I noted your comment about your breakfast experience. Please rest assured that I have already taken up this matter internally and we have rectified the issue. I sincerely apologize on behalf of my colleagues for the shortcomings in service you had experienced. My family and I visited over half term. The beach and location of the property is very nice and certainly better than the beaches near muscat. The rooms and hotel is designed in a local style and like all six senses properties I guess try and deliver sustainable luxury. I’d say that the design interiors and colour palette felt a bit old and tired could probably do with an upgrade. The aircon units were quite noisy and a bit old fashioned. The rooms are very generously sized. I found the bed comfortable but my wife didn’t and suffered from a sore back following sleep. Internet in our room was patchy working in the living area but not in the bed which was odd. Kids club was good but not exceptional like ones visited at the san geran in Mauritius last year. My major bug bear was that we were on a half board package and a lot if not most dining options had hefty supplements attatched or many of the dishes did. One meal in the restaurant up the hill commanded over £500 supplement for 2 adults and 2 kids, and only one adult was drinking (2 glasses house wine). This is simply ludicrous, especially as the food quality was average to ok. Another dinner on the beach was about £300 extra fir the 4 of us. This really left a sour taste in my mouth. I understand the pound is weak and tax in Oman is high, but prices at the hotel were incredibly steep. Personally, that ruined the holiday for me because being captive and having your eyes gouged out makes me unhappy and I would not return because of that. Breakfast choices good but again not exceptional and have certainly experienced better elsewhere. Staff were generally good. I would have had this discussion with the gm when at the resort as I don’t like to leave bad reviews before giving feedback directly but I feel my issues are macro rather than micro and probably difficult to change enough to encourage me to be a repeat visitor.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your feedback. I am glad to learn that you appreciated the beauty of our beach, our location, and our sustainability approach. I've noted your feedback regarding our pricing structure, I also agree with you that our pricing level is on the higher side. We regularly compare our prices with similar Hotels in the region and we will certainly review them again soon. Unfortunately, the high tax and duty in Oman would make it difficult to make significant adjustment to our price structure however based on your comment we will be adding more value to our offerings which I hope will somewhat make our prices more reasonable. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. Please be assured that your comments are very important for us and help us focus on areas in need of improvement to ensure that we provide the best level of service to all of our guests. Thank you again for your feedback and I sincerely hope you will give us another opportunity in the future; it will be a pleasure to welcome you back. The villas a nice but old and in need of renovation. The furniture is heavy and drawers hard to close etc - even though it’s all billed as ‘ sustainable’ it needs a revamp.

Food and beverages are incredibly expensive. I understand that they have to get the food to the remote location, but everything was plus plus and the final price per item was ridiculously high, even for items ‘grown’ there. The food was rather underwhelming and certainly the pasta dish served to me was very very basic with little in the way of topping or sauce and was incredibly expensive

The setting of the resort is lovely and the beach great. The beach and pool service was lacking, and many of the sun loungers and umbrellas were falling to pieces - again needed renovation

The whole resort felt like it was trying to compare with the Maldives- if it is trying to be in that bracket then they need to make some serious improvements to get up to that level

On balance, nice place with lovely beach, horrendously expensive and in need of an upgrade

Dear donnaj522, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your review on Trip Advisor. Firstly, may I take this opportunity to sincerely apologise for some of the shortcomings you experienced while staying with us. It is clear there a couple of areas we can improve on and it’s only by receiving feedback sometimes we are made aware and can react, so thank you! I've shared your feedback to my team regarding lack of service at the beach and pool, please rest assured that we have taken this feedback very seriously as we genuinely care about our guests and conduct regular training & inspections to ensure our product and services are up to standard & guest satisfaction I have noted your concern regarding our pricing structure is taken into serious consideration, we genuinely care about the value provided to our guests and regularly revise our pricing and offerings to ensure our products and services are accurately priced. Our pricing is commensurate with regional 5-star hotel pricing and is reviewed regularly in this regard. We do strive to add value where we are able and again, I feel in the circumstances during your stay we seem to have missed the mark. For that, I sincerely apologies. I hope that we will have the chance to possibly welcoming you again and if there is anything that I can be your assistant, please do not hesitate to contact me personally.
