Clean; bed was OK. Unfortunately, Lac Rose wasn't pink when we went (January) because there was too much water (from the rainy season) in the lake. However, it is a good birding spot for plovers and shore birds and it offers a chance to get out of congested Dakar.
The staff was friendly, the room as clean and surroundings are very quiet. The restaurant is very expensive for Senegalese standards, and it's very difficult to get an alternatives as this place is a bit of a tourist village. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. It's a nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Dakar, but it's best to come off season when the place is quiet and relaxed.
On June 4th, 2007, 24 of my friends and family attended my wedding celebration at a small resort call Keur Salim. We initially planned to organize and stay at Le Palal campement, but upon arrival we were saddend to see that the place had significantly deteriorated. At the last minute, we went across the road to Keur Salim. Immediately they were able to accomodate our guests and we had a terrific day. The food was wonderful. The staff was exceptional and our rooms were quaint.
