We had dinner here at the recommendation of Franklin, a very friendly tourism officer who worked at the official tourism office across the street. Although the food at Bahia Prinicipe resort was good, we really wanted some good Dominican food. The cook working that night, Yanira, does not speak English, but as most of us in the group spoke Spanish,... More

I retired 5 yrs ago at age 55 with a $100k pension and no debts. During the past 5 winters I have spent ~3-4mos/yr somewhere tropical, and so have stayed in a few dozen different hotels, casa particulars, condos & apts. Hotel Bahia View was by far the most terrible place, in fact the only truly terrible place, I have... More

My sister and I were staying at the Grand Bahia Principe inclusive resort but wanted to go into town to see Samana. We walked around and visited with the locals. On our way back we stopped into the open air first floor of this hotel across from the bus stop where we had taken the Caribe Express from Las Americas... More

We came to Samana for the first time and had booked to stay in the Grand Bahia hotel that is All Inclusive but we arrived 2 days early and so decided to stay at this hotel. I called the Grand Bahia and asked them if they knew a cheaper hotel in the town and they recommended this hotel. It was... More

We took a cheap room at this hotel, conveniently located right across from the gua-gua stop, and between the more touristy downtown and the more local area of town. The room was very small, had a fan, lukewarm water and wasn't very clean but it was only RD 1,100 for the two of us. Breakfast not included. There was a... More

The hotel Bahia view has absolutely no view of the Bahia, but other than that I have no complaints. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom had good water pressure, which can be hard to come by in the Dominican Republic. I will note that none of the staff spoke English, so Spanish is somewhat of a requirement to... More

We stopped at the restaurant at the hotel. They have a small covered patio in front of the hotel. Ice cold local beer El Presidente was so good. Prices were very reasonable. It was a great spot to get out of the hot sun and watch all the people from the cruise ship pass by the hotel.

We stayed here for our one night in Samana. The location is ideal since it is so central and allows you to be able to explore the beach, Vigia Bridge and Malecon by foot. The hotel also has free wi-fi, which is a huge bonus. The rooms were clean enough, although very run down and I felt like they didn't... More

We stayed at the Hotel Bahia View for 2 nights - 25th & 26th February 2012. We were a budget minded group of 8 (4 adults, 4 young children aged 3-7). We had two rooms at the front of the hotel - with a balcony and fan but no a/c. Each room had an en-suite Overall it was a great... More

I decided to do a road trip with my wife and my 5 years old girl. We spent 2 nights at the "Ballenas Escondidas Hotel", 10KM away from Samana downtown, but then I decided to spend the last night in Samana city. I saw the hotel the first night we arrived to Samana and had dinner in it´s restaurant. Great... More
