I went with my family for Easter weekend. This place was different from other places I’ve been to in DR. It was a secluded Gem. Great atmosphere, amazing vibe, villas are very nice and clean. Amazing views & hospitality. I was able to do a day trip to las galeras and cayo levantado via boat with their accommodation as well.
Been here several times before. Enjoy it as I am a boat person and very comfortable surrounded by them. Great room and products. Both restaurants were done well with good selections. Property needs some maintenance but overall is a perfect hideaway.
Great hotel, services and staff. Beautiful tranquil setting. Comfortable beds and beddings. Quiet AC. Lots of space. Super safe. No mosquitoes. Pristine ocean club. From morning to night, you can choose tranquil or active. Tennis courts and racquets available too
This hotel was a very good experience. Every member of staff I came across was absolutely friendly. The initial welcome and check-in were very good. The room was well appointed and very comfortable with coconuts prepared and waiting for us to sip and freshly ground coffee ready when needed. Housekeeping was impeccable and the cleaning staff worked around our schedule. The shower was wonderful. The air conditioning worked very well as did the wi-fi. The balcony overlooking the marina and ocean is absolutely amazing. The breakfast was nothing like the typical included breakfast. At the Bannister is a good restaurant that you order off the menu with a wide variety of delicious options including good healthy options and even vegan options. All the food we ate at all the restaurants was perfectly prepared. Includes pools, ocean swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. A very good experience.…
We truly enjoyed our 4 night stay here. The lobby is gorgeous. The staff is attentive and friendly. The hotel had only a few guests and the kitchens were out of several things, but it was all handled with good humour. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and have fun with it. All the food we had was delicious and beautifully presented I want to give a huge shout out to our server Luis. He is a treasure. He always had a smile and was a large part of the reason we had such a good time. Thank you so much Luis.
I love this place. Been here twice, stayed in the villa and most recently the apartments. I love samana, a less touristy part of DR, and this hotel is very peaceful, tranquil atmosphere, with really great service. The staff was really friendly and always helpful. Overall it’s just a beautiful place and I’d come back in a heartbeat.
I have visited the Bannister Hotel in 2018, 2019 and 2021. Each and every time we are greeted with so much kindness and attentiveness from the staff. My family have enjoyed ourselves each time. The views from the hotel grounds are beautiful! The hotel has a mini market on site which has your basic needs and very helpful. The staff is always so kind. Carlos and Yessica are EXCEPTIONAL! Incredibly attentive and such sweethearts! Carlos remembered my husband and I from previous stays and it was so kind to be treated with such hospitality! Nuilka was also very helpful in confirming reservations. Again, this has been my 3rd stay at the Bannister Hotel. I have nothing but wonderful experiences and will surely be back once again!
The Bannister Hotel sits peacefully in a secluded, gated, and guarded cove in a private marina on Samana Bay. From the moment you arrive you’re greeted with professionalism and courtesy, and have entered a world of true five-star service. The modern lobby is elegant and beautiful, stark white backgrounds accented with natural materials, opening to an expansive view of the harbor. The spacious suites show this is an older property, and that is definitely part of its charm. This is the type of place that families visit, and return to year after year through generations, whether by yacht, sailboat, or car. The Bannister reminds me of the great hotels I was lucky enough to visit as a child with my parents in the 1960s, when people REALLY knew the meaning of service. We arrived during a quiet time of the year, and luxuriated in the near-empty surroundings. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, from the front desk to the waitress at the lovely Puerto Bahia Ocean Club. The breakfasts were wonderful, and we had great meals at both Regatta and the Ocean Club. If you’re visiting the Dominican Republic, you must make your way to Samana Province. On the way through Samana, we stopped at a great local place called Majara. It’s right on a corner at the busy traffic circle near the harbor. The Bannister exceeded our expectations on every level. We’ve already made reservations to come back during whale-watching season, and hopefully before then.…
The Bannister hotel has an outstanding view of the marina and the Samana Bay. Most rooms are ocean view. However, service at the hotel restaurants is poor. Visited the restaurants 6 times during my 2 night stay and there was always a problem. The severs would not take the order and make you wait for over half hour, the servers would bring you the wrong order, and most times the ticket would not reflect the order. The hotel needs to have someone with experience running both restaurants. It is a shame that a hotel with such view and location can’t handle basic services.
Lovely views but some problems that seem to be unresolved and taken lightly by the management . No hot water !!! For 4 days and told warm is acceptable ???? Run out of napkins and beach towels ? No effort to get more ...dinner was just ok short menu .. not 5 star by any standards
