Room is tidy, matress a bit tired and saggy, no soap on the washstand. Sunday morning the hot water did not work, breakfast room was locked until 8. I wanted to organise a surprise at breakfast for my son' - whose birthday it was - and went into the kitchen to organise it in secret. Without listening to me at all, the staff gruffly ordered me out of the kitchen (twice) and insisted on only talking to me in the restaurant - where my son was sitting. That rude demeanour completely ruined my surprise and put a damper on my son's birthday. All in all: I won't ever book there again. Piti: the barman was nice, witty and good company...
My dad and I stopped at Restaurant Wasserfall after driving over Großglockner. We wanted something local and hearty, and saw the sign that they served game from their own hunts. We both opted for the game goulash (we think it was roe / deer), but asked for knödel instead of noodles. The servings were generous , and the dishes delicious. The food also arrived very fast (but the knödels tasted freshly made)- and the service was friendly and efficient. All in all a “simple”, but very tasty meal!
Hotel is in a great location. Rooms are ok, bed wasn't super comfortable. Food was also just okay. We had good service for the most part but, we were constantly reminded that we had to pay for our drinks by the end of the evening not the next morning at check out when we would pay for our stay. Not sure why but, not what we are accustom to.
I spent 3 nights in the hotel within my cycling trip around Grossglockner area and felt quite comfortable here. Buffet breakfasts and dinners were sufficient and food especially for dinner was really good. Local food cooked with heart and very good quality. Beneficial was room for keeping bicycles and for drying sport dresses. Service and hotel staff was very friendly. Can recommend to either motorbike or sport trips.
We were staying here with 10 friends for ski holiday. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Food was really delicious, we had breakfast and dinner. Ski bus stops (a few times) in front of the hotel or (more often) 300m walking distance.
Situated on the main road through the village the place is easy to spot and like many hotels in the area quite imposing. The surrounding scenery is beautiful and the high hills front and back help the spectacular views. On arrival our introduction was immensely friendly and efficient and we got the corner room on the second floor. Bathroom was on our left as soon as we entered and the place was clean and efficient, plenty of hot water and a solid pressure from the shower head. Twin beds were comfortable and the floor to ceiling doors opened up on a little balcony overlooking the side car park, road to the front, camp site on the opposite side of the road and the towering green fields leading to a tree lined horizon. Breakfast was solid with assigned seats and plenty of choice but the majority of it was cold. Exception was hard boiled eggs and of course, the drinks of tea and coffee. Nothing was too much trouble and if something was used up then a simple request got fresh produce delivered to your table. Really nice place, efficient and friendly staff and good quality sleep and fluffy towels.…
Nice family run Hotel, close to Zell am See and the Grossglockner. The rooms are well equipped, daily housekeeping is proper. We had a half board reservation and both the breakfast and the dinner was great, including a wide choice of salads, fresh baked pastry, meat and also a vegetarian option. The staff was also friendly and helpful. For 50 Euro deposit we also had our private wifi in room, which worked good.
We stayed at Wasserfall due to its proximity to the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We took advantage of the restaurant and had some delicious Austrian meals. All staff were very friendly, with a few speaking good English thankfully. The man working in the restaurant was very personable and humerous, which lifted our spirits. Thanks for a great stay!
good price only 242eur/5 days for 4 person, good and fresh meal (half board - buffet), each day desert, good service of the staff, we had a room 2+2 (for children free) with a balcony, room was cleaned each day, lift
There were 3 of us, all adults. We chose the hotel as it is only a few kilometers away from the ski slopes Zell Am See. The rooms were big enough, warm enough, the double bed was really comfortable, but the extra bed that I slept on was not so comfy as the mattress was too soft and worn off. Bathrooms well equipped, nothing to complain about. There is a lift in the hotel so you don't have to carry the bags. You can leave your ski equpiment in the ski room with a heater for the ski boots. The biggest plus is the FOOD. The buffet was absolutely delicious. Every evening there was a wide choice of vegetables, a soup and five or four main dishes plus two different desserts. Breakfasts were great, too. I definitely recommend the hotel.
