Hotel Basur served as our base for 7 wonderful days. The hotel is conveniently located east of Sankt Anton. We drove daily to various venues like Zurs, Lech, St. Anton etc. in 10 to 20 minutes.

The Hotel could not have been more perfect. Sure, it was not recently built (1972) but has all the comforts of home….and what would one expect if the history of this location goes back to the 1200's?

The managerial staff speak excellent English and were most helpful. Ski tiks were purchased on site eliminating another hassle. The buffet breakfast is huge, fresh, excellent and sating. The three course dinner plus desert are served in a magnificent wood carved and adorned dining room with crisp linens on our reserved tables. Scrumptious and ahem + 4 pounds!!

Our apartment was perfect for the three of us. Main room; bunk room; wash room and separate WC.Evoked memories when sons were younger and we went on ski holidays in western US. They are now 45 and 39.

And don't worry about the church bells across street…they are silenced at 10 or 11.

Thank you Hotel Basur.

Tyrol style hotel that serves St Anton skiers (in winter) with very welcoming staff and good food. We were on a meal plan for breakfast and dinner and the choices for dinner were to our liking. The rooms and facilities were very clean including the spa which was also very appealing.
Try and select rooms on the opposite side of the church as the bells are rung in the morning.
The free ski-bus to the ski area makes it very convenient. It runs every 15 minutes at peak times and 30 to 60 minutes mid day.

We very much loved our stay in the Riffler apartment at Basur. We are a family of 5 and the apartment provided lots of space with effectively 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The hotel was just across the street where we enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the 4-course dinner. The dinner menu provided various options including meat, fish and vegetarian meals, also suitable for our teenagers. The bus stop to Sankt Anton ski lifts and village was also just across the street. There was a slight challenge with our teenagers wanting to stay later at the apres-ski bars and there no longer being buses available to Flirsch after 18:30. The apartment was provided with clean towels on a daily basis. However from a sustainability point of view some hooks or an electric towel heater would be better. Staff was very friendly throughout the hotel. We will definitely consider coming back to Basur in the future!

We spend over a week in this typical tyrol hotel over 500 Years old, renovated and renamed in 1972. The reception was not welcoming. The atmosphere is very warm and cosy. The food was good and service with Martina, who is very, professional, friendly and helpful, in one word, excellent. The bathrooms are small, the room average size with balcony facing the church. Now the ringing of the bells during the night was quite a challenge and disturbing. The bus drive near hotel to the ski lift in St. Anton takes 20 to 30 min. depending how many stops. Wellness area is very spacious and nice. Overall with a few renovations could be a much better place to spend holidays.

Hotel Basur has had a beautiful renovation while still maintaining its character. The room that we stayed in has been refurbished and redone in a splendid manner. The bathroom has had a complete makeover with an awesome result. The breakfast buffet is very nice and each evening the dinner was delicious. Value for money at Basur is really 5 stars. On top of that the service was as always excellent. We have been here 7 times and we will definitely be back!!!

Stayed here for the first time recently for a week long snowboard trip and quite enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly, and upon check-in we were given two keys to choose which room we wanted. We went with the larger room on the 4th floor (of course!). The room was very large and quite comfortable. The only downside was that it was directly opposite the church so we were awoken by the loud church bells at 7am every morning. Although after a few days of being on the slope we were able to fall back asleep immediately after. Either way, I would recommend earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

The food was decent and we had a different option each night. My husband and I are vegetarians, so it was nice that they included a veggie option every evening. A few main courses were a bit hit or miss, but we were always happy with the salad bar and always left feeling satisfied.

The village is very quiet, so if you're hoping to partake in the St. Anton nightlife you may want to stay closer to the town. There is a little bar down the street called Enrique's that I would recommend visiting, if only to chat to the very friendly owner from Mexico City. Other than that, you'll need to hop on the bus to find any additional restaurants and bars.

The only real downside to the hotel is that there is smoking allowed downstairs in the common area and bar. In the evening it can be a bit overwhelming, and we could even smell in up in our room when we went to sleep.

Overall we had a really pleasant experience and would definitely recommend this place to friends, especially for the price.

We're spending our skiing vacation in Hotel Basur since nearly 10 years. Very nice and friendly staff as always, meals this year not as top as during the last years. Good connection to the Arlberg skiing area.
Renovation is more than necessary - especially for the rooms in the old part of the house!

Nice hotel the rooms are a bit dated but clean and nice. Really God food in the restaurant! Not the most exciting area arround the hotel but probably very lovely in the winter. The service was great and the beer garden was really cozy.

This hotel is in an inconvenient location and a 22 minute bus ride from St. Anton, the nearest ski resort. Rooms are old and dirty with soiled furniture, Bathroom shower was a tiny 18 inches by 24 inches, too small to bend down. No soap, shampoo or toiletries. Beds were deplorable, old foam mattresses making a restful sleep impossible. The mattresses were never of good quality but are now sunken and terrible. The so called "twin beds" are merely two foam mattresses on a platform, not separate single beds. The sauna area had a moldy smell. The sauna is tiny with low ceiling, swerat stained walls and walls falling apart and damaged. The steam room had a stale smell of sweat. Common shower area for men and women, an no soap in the shower area. Hotel abuts a busy noisy road. Don;t think about sleeping in as the church bells peal at 7am and continue to appeal for a minute or longer depending o the day. The hallways have nice wood carving but the carpet is old and stained. As an example of the lack of maintenance, the stairways have broken tracks holding the carpet in place. For skiers there no place in the rooms to hang clothing, unless you have paid for the single supplement. Having skied in many places in Europe, this place would be at the bottom of the barrel and would not get a single star. Our group left in the early morning and a reflection of management's indifference is that the lobby was left dark, making it difficult to leave the property. To repeat, this hotel may be inexpensive but it is horrible. By the way food in the dining room was ok but monotonous and the dining room staff was great. I have added lots of details as I cannot imagine how anyone could like this place and visitors should know what they will be getting, not some unsupported opinion like "nice."
