In the beautiful surroundings of the Tyrolean Alps, the medieval castle of Rosenegg, now Family Hotel Schloss Rosenegg, is located a stone's throw from the ski area of Saalbach Hinterglemm-Leogang Fieberbrunn. The castle is the ideal place for an active holiday with the whole family: with the entertainment dedicated to your children, hiking and outdoor sports, you will be fascinated by the folklore of local festivals and by the daring flavors of the typical dishes of the area and beyond, for a wide and varied range of Austrian culinary offers and International, with rich breakfasts, snacks and buffet dinners The staff welcomes you in "Family" with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. And when you want to recharge your batteries, there is a wellness center with a Finnish sauna and an infrared sauna, an aromatic steam bath, a relaxation room and a comfortable swimming pool with water at a very pleasant temperature. We look forward to seeing you at Fieberbrunn, the Staff of the Schloss
The hotel is very spacious and intricate, as it consists of many individual buildings that are connected underground. Most of these corridors look really spooky and like a ghost train. But maybe they want to create this impression on purpose, because it is, after all, an old castle. In some places, old buildings are mixed with new, modern accents, which sometimes seems a bit bizarre (keyword: "break in style"). Unfortunately, there is a lot of need for renovation - which is almost understandable given the size of the hotel and the many changes of ownership. In some places, modernization/renovation work has begun, but this work has not always been completed. The carpets in the corridors and stairwell in particular are long past their best and are extremely damaged in several places. Our room was in area B. At least the carpet in the corridor was replaced and the windows there (burgundy plastic windows instead of wooden windows) were also apparently replaced. The outer part of the double glazing on one window was completely broken. Of course, it looks pretty unsightly. Our room was probably already one of the "renovated rooms". It was equipped with laminate flooring (a very cheap option), a double bed (an ancient spring mattress), a closet (no safe!!), a desk with a fridge and a small seating area with a side table. In some cases there was also underfloor heating in the seating area. Otherwise there were several radiators under the brown wooden windows (you could also operate them yourself). The bathroom had a sink with a mirror and a very spacious shower. Unfortunately the radiator didn't work at all (very inconvenient for a bathroom). But boiling hot water came out of the tap. There was a separate toilet opposite. Big plus point!! The balcony or terrace faced south, but wasn't really usable because there wasn't even a chair to enjoy the sun. Not to mention the floor, which was crying out for renovation. The separation from the neighboring room/balcony just made me smile. An orange tarpaulin was simply hanging from a frame, which didn't even match the hotel's colors (the shutters were the typical red and white of a castle). With a little creativity, another, more cost-effective solution could have been found that would have matched the character of a castle. The dining rooms reminded me less of a castle hall and more of a youth hostel canteen. The offerings were accordingly. A buffet (very Italian), but the tasty items were often sold out.
Despite everything, the hotel has a certain charm.

We stayed for a week's skiing in January (great snow conditions). First bus (close by) is 8:40 so 8:50 before you get to slopes. It's a quirky hotel with some lengthy corridors. Room was fine, breakfast was good if you don't mind waiting 10mins for a slow cooked egg, leisure area was a mix of very tired swimming pool area and lovely sauna / relaxation areas. The dining room area was too small for the evening buffet meals so you may have a wait for your table even if you've made a reservation. Service can be entertaining. Meals were about school meal standard - the worst we've experienced in dozens of visits to Austrian 4 star hotels. It's fine as a base for skiing as long as the quality is reflected in the price.

The hotel has seen better day. While it is located in a nice hostorical building, the rooms and facilities are in need of a thorough renovation. Our bathroom looked like it was build in the 1970s.
The food is average at best. In the three days we stayed at the hotel the evening buffet contained Wiener Schnitzel on two days. The vegetarian options are limited to pasta. The salat buffet is basic. Same is true for the breakfast.

We stayed 3 nights with half board. I have to say that after many years of holidays in Austria, this was the worst hotel we have encountered. Wifi works only in the common areas, Turkish bath not working, Room that is redone in the late afternoon, Cobwebs present on all the windows of the rooms and the bathroom. Every evening, even though we had to book a time for dinner, we queued to enter the restaurant and had to eat our meals quickly because at 9.30pm everything was removed from the buffet. The afternoon snack is very minimal and with only one hot drink vending machine for a few hundred people. Rich breakfast with sweet and savory but, also in this case, only one machine for hot drinks (15' queues for a coffee), nice location, the staff, among other things, very kind and helpful, was, in my opinion, too small compared to guest attendance. I'm sorry for all the Italian staff with whom we immediately bonded and who worked hard to satisfy the requests of all the guests, but I don't feel like recommending this hotel to anyone if the conditions don't change.

Hotel Schloss Rosenegg Fieberbrunn Just had a wonderful week staying at Hotel Rosenegg, it’s a converted castle from the 1900, full of charter. The rooms are all full of charter, we had one at the front with a turret. Good size, could of done with a couple of draws, we only had a wardrobe. Beds are comfy. The rooms at the front do have a bit of traffic noise and the road is very busy day and night. When they made up the rooms they made the pillow into a large ball. You can get rid of this by shaking the pillow out. Rooms have safe and fridge. Bathrooms are nice, have bath and shower, nice toilets are included. They give you a pool towel and bathrobe, very handy for going to the pool. Pool is lovely, good temperature and is big enough to have a swim. There’s a good size jacuzzi, saunas, small gym and hot relaxing room. There is a breakfast room, with very good choice of food. Good coffee machines. You can even cook your own boiled egg how you like them, wonderful did this most morning, really lovely breads & pasties. Excellent service. The dining room in the evening is all self service has a great selection of food, also found lots of lovely food. The drinks are a very reasonable price. Have as much or as little as you like. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. After dinner there is a lounge with pool table or the Taverners bar again very good price, has some live music good fun. If you are skiing there is a bus near by 5 mins to the slopes works well. There is a super market and coffee shop near by.

Stayed on a family ski trip for a week with two teenagers, we had two double rooms which were clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The hotel is quite large and a bit of a rabbit warren but this is part of the hotels charm with plenty of character and unique features. Although some of the communal areas a are getting a bit tired. The pool/spa was great and was open all day. Restaurant was well run and the food was of a good standard but could have done with more variety. The Schloss Tavern was good and very well priced at €3.50 for a large beer but could do with more staff as the excellent bar man seemed very busy some nights. Ski/boot room was good with plenty of space for kit and it’s only about 25 meters walk to the ski bus stop. All of the staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful going out of their way to make our holiday excellent. The hotel is a few minutes from the village centre which is quite and doesn’t have much in the way of shopping or apres. Great hotel for a ski holiday and I would definitely go back.

Lovely hotel, a quirky castle full of character and charm. Enthusiastic friendly staff. Clean warm, rooms with quality beds and daily room service. Towel and robes are provided for the spa and pool which is of a good standard. Breakfa mist and evening meals were always excellent plus there were after ski coffee and snacks available late afternoon each day. Nice cafe/ bakery around the corner too. The hotel has a lively taverna bar attached and is sensibly priced The main ski lifts were a 5 minute bus ride away, with bus stop just a few metres from the front door. It was walkable but not in ski boots and the main village centre half way down was worth a walk around. Plenty of shops close by. We had a fabulous ski week here around Fieberbrunn Saalbach Hinterglemm and Leogang, Zell am see and kaprun can also be accessed on the lift pass. We would be happy to return to this hotel.

Nice quirky hotel. We just returned from our ski trip and would recommend, very good value for money in terms of drinks prices. Food of a good standard and very attentive staff. The hotel is an old castle with a interesting history, its in several blocks with tunnels and bridges. Our room was approximately 700 steps from the dining room! I used the swimming pool, which was nice but could do with a bit of a refresh. Ski room is very warm and big, ski bus stop is about 2 minutes walk and runs all day to the bergstation about 10 ,minutes away. Rosenegg is not right in the centre but does have a spar supermarket and a coffee shop/bakery.
Would recommend but to ski over to Saalbach area is a long day. Good location for beginners perhaps not wanting to venture far, with good blues and red runs.

I booked, late, on a ski trip with friends and was pleasantly surprised to find that although I had booked as a single I had been allocated an enormous double room. The hotel is a really well run, welcoming, warm place packed with features and really has to be seen to be believed. The food is plentiful and varied, although served buffet style, and has enough options to suit the most fastidious of palettes. There is a separate bar with a great atmosphere and the drinks, both here and in the restaurant, are cheaper than most pubs in the UK. The ski area is not really suitable for beginners, but a 30 minute bus ride gets you to Leogang which is much better and the gondola system gets you to Saalbach in about 45 minutes without too much skiing. I would certainly go back to stay in this great hotel.

I will start with a positive. The staff are 5 star, they are all kind, polite and could not do enough for you. The hotel is an old impressive building however, it is very tired and for the price point, it doesn't bring value. The hotel gets extremely hot, the rooms were so hot we could not sleep, we were told that this was b/c our room was above the sauna but all the guests we spoke to said the same thing. We were moved and that was slightly better, no WIFI, some rooms had WIFI but it was very, very slow. The food was awful, breakfast options were so poor and donuts on offer for breakfast is a joke! no fresh fruit, all canned fruit, processed ham, never enough breakfast tea teabags. Breakfast room soooo hot and packed!! not enough staff to support, they are run of their feet. Supper was also pretty awful too, very little healthy options. Would not return.
