Very nice area to stay when you wish to ski - hotel is comfortable and well located - - ski rental, ski pass, you can find everything closely with no difficulty- warmth welcome from the staff - they are friendly and well attentive. The room is as expected from Austrian chalet, woodenly decorated and warmed.

We booked this hotel at the last minute and were very pleasantly surprised to find it to be clean, modern and really well equipped. The hostess was really friendly and spoke a little English. She explained to us that staying even one night in the hotel qualified us to receive a free Wildschönau summer card which provides FOC access to a lot of the local attractions including unlimited use of the cable car. We intended walking from the top of the cable so to receive a free pass to get us high up was an unexpected and very welcome bonus as the normal price is about 17 euro/day for an adult. We found the hotel to be incredibly good value for 31euro/pp. the breakfast was by far the best we’d had in Germany and Austria. It was better than the breakfast at the Novotel which cost 18euro/pp. so if you subtract that and the saving made on the lift pass then the room itself costs less than nothing! We had a great nights sleep in the comfortable beds. The showers were great and everything was new and really well designed in the local style with flowers and pine wood everywhere. We’d recommend this hotel to anyone. Probably the best value in the whole region.

We spent two nights here. Rain was forecast so we decided to take a break from our town to town hike (KAT Walk). The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel appeals to families, as there were many children, which we did not mind at all. Breakfast and dinner were included at a very reasonable price. The meals were tasty, home cooked three course affairs served at an assigned table. Our hiking laundry was very kindly done for us and placed folded on our bed. The rooms here are clean and sweet. They are not huge but everything we needed was there. A number have balconies. The town is probably far livelier in the winter as a ski town. We enjoyed our stay.

Due to various travel plans we only allocated 4 days in Austria for our first ski-trip and stayed at Almrose Pension. 3 days on the slopes isn't enough time for your first attempts at skiing but our trip was smooth thanks to the hotel owners - Judith and Peter. Transfers to and from Innsbruck airport (about an hour and 15 mins) were offered and made it easy to get to the hotel. All the ski-hire gear we needed was organised for us as well as lessons and our bill was all handled by the hotel without needing to worry about dealing with everyone directly ourselves. The hotel itself was clean and tidy while the half-board option included a continental breakfast (with fantastic bread rolls) and a filling and tasty 3-course dinner that covered local dishes. Their organisation saved us a lot of time and hassle, and they were extremely accommodating in any requests and changes such as more lessons and swapping snowboards to ski's. The hotel is about a 10 min walk from the main gondola up the nearest slope which the instructors said was a bit of a walk but actually was great since we needed to walk off the soreness/stiffness in the morning and on the way home. Overall a fantastic venue for the beginner skiers.
