High design and contemporary art update 1902 farmhouse at this award winning, #1 rated boutique B&B on Shelter Island, NY. Located on Shelter Island, Seven - is a short walk from Sunset Beach, known for its magnificent sunsets, and the lively Sunset Beach restaurant and bar. Seven offers various size guestrooms with private contemporary design-inspired bathrooms featuring 100% cotton linens and sustainable toiletry amenities from The Cold Spring Apothecary and French milled soaps by Pre de Provence. Unlike a traditional B&B, the influence of contemporary art is infused throughout the sleek, uncluttered design: guests enjoy breakfast at Northern Dutch designer Marcel Wanders' Two Tops Table, and Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa's organic sculptural abaca Grande Papilio Swivel Armchair and Ottoman welcome guests into the library and gallery. The European-inspired continental breakfast buffet includes fresh juices, pain au chocolat, croissants, baguettes with sweet butter and jam, and a gourmet cheese selection. Sunday mornings offer smoked salmon or freshly baked quiche.

My family have been frequenting Seven on Shelter for a few years now. We consider it our home away from home. The rooms are super comfortable and modern all while preserving the feel of being on a country island. The owner has excellent taste in art. Soo much so that last trip I

Serendipity brought us to Seven. I had business on the Island and needed to stay overnight. Normally we stay on the mainland and ferry back and forth. No more. This is a first class b&b. The house itself is impeccably kept. The InnKeeper, Beth, is warm, welcoming and

How far is it from the winerys
Seven is five to ten miles, via a erry ride to the wineries on both the North and the South Forks of Long Island. Shelter Island is located in between the North Fork (which has over 100 wineries), and the South Fork, also knows as The Hamptons. To get to the North Fork from Shelter Island it is a quick 7 minute ferry ride on the Shelter Island North Ferry. To get to the South Fork from Shelter Island it is a quick five minute ferry ride on the Shelter Island South Ferry. These ferries are cash only and take walk on passengers, bikes, and up to 26 cars at a time. In the Hamptons you'll find The Wölffer Estate, Channing Daughters Winery, as well as Duck Walk Vineyards. All excellent vineyards, and very beautiful. On the North fork, there are wonderful wineries very close to the ferry in Greenport, and neighboring towns of Southhold, Cutchogue, Mattituck and many many more.
