I came for business. What a lovely respite to come to a location after a long workday that has tents, chalets, trees and birds . It's so much nicer than staying in a dingy or run-down hotel in Morogoro town (most of them!). Wonderful staff, great pool, honour bar for soft drinks, wine & beer. Note that it is a 10-minute drive to downtown if you need to go there.
Found this campsite on Google maps and overnighted here on the road between Kisolanza old farmhouse south of Iringa, and Peponi near Tanga. It's perfectly positioned on this road. The signage is being improved we believe. It's out of town so nice and quiet, and the food is home-cooking style, we had the boneless roast chicken - delicious. Stayed one night in a luxury chalet family room, where every little detail was thought of. Friendly helpful staff and cosy atmosphere, recommended!
This lodge is located on the outskirts of Morogoro away from traffic and people. There is food, liquor, a pool, space to camp if you have tents, and the owner even made us ice in his machine so we could have it with our gin and tonic. Google Earth gave us two locations for this lodge and the first was not correct so do not get discouraged if you don't find it right away!
Friendly place, great atmosphere. A bit out of the city centre and therefore very quiet place. We liked the breakfast. Nice pool area, although the water can be quite cold. The hosts, especially Annie, were very helpful!
Simbamwenni Lodge is an ideal location linking Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha and Mikumi National Parks. Based in Morogoro it is an oasis of comfort and peace. A great welcome from Annie and her friendly and professional staff. Great food, convivial conversation in the bar area. The swimming pool is a haven to cool down in, particularly for those of us not used to the heat. Annie has teamed up with Safari Partners Morogoro and together they offer a marvelous package. I totally recommend Simbamwenni
