Stromstad Spa & Resort is a modern spa resort situated in the midst of the stunning Bohuslan archipelago, on the west coast of Sweden. You are only a few minutes away from the Norwegian/Swedish border and a good hour´s drive from Oslo in Norway and Gothenburg in Sweden. Stromstad Spa & Resort is the place to be for guests who love golf, sailing, sea, bold architecture, swedish seafood, exotic nature and tranquilizing spa experiences. The spa itself covers 2000 square metres on two floors. Most of them overlook the sea and the canals at the idyllic Notholmen. The hotel salon and the bar with its lovely harbor view and magnificent fireplace is ideal for sipping a cocktail before dinner in the restaurant. The large terrace by the sea is excellent for breakfast, sunbathing, lunch and dinner in the summertime. The Mojito bar is a popular centre point. Stromstad Spa & Resort invite you to stay, unwind and be pampered. Enjoy and boost yourself!

Stromstad Spa & Resort boasts a scenic location lauded by guests for its proximity to the sea and convenient access to the beauty of the surroundings. While the hotel's atmosphere and stylish decor receive a nod from some, the experience is dampened for others by loud music and a lack of fulfillment. Rooms are described as spacious with comfortable beds, yet issues with ventilation, noise, and cleanliness are called out.
The spa amenities are satisfactory; however, many guests are taken aback by additional charges for pool access and the overall value for the price paid. Service quality is frequently criticized, with reports of unprofessionalism and slow response times.

Great hotel, incredible location if you like to live by the sea. Modern, warm, cozy and pleasant service.
The room was a suite/suite queen. A large room, with kitchen, dining area, sofa, and separate bedroom. Lovely bed. Nice balcony with furniture, and I could open the entire glass wall between the balcony and the sofa area. Very good!! I'm not too happy that it was a timeshare apartment with locked cupboard doors, but with such a great standard it doesn't matter. Disappointed that there was no view, and no sunny conditions.
The breakfast? Fantastic!!!! All of the options. Freshly squeezed juice in a carafe, not from a juice carton in a juice machine, absolutely perfect at 7am. The breakfast gave the impression that someone wanted me well. Not a boring standard breakfast.
Bar menu/food in the afternoon, where I tried a hamburger. Very good. Smaller size, but it was afternoon, and most people are probably going to dinner in the evening. The dinner menu was from 18. I did not try it. I did not test the Spa or other offers the hotel has. Next time I will try kayaking on the lake. And the bar outside when it opens.
Nice to go for walks in the area, look at sailboats and small houses in the area.
Recommended for couples, groups, or if you travel alone like me.

Have been here several times after reopening. I was once again greeted by nice people in reception pg restaurant. Great breakfast, with good selection of most. I used the bar and restaurant, everything was fine. Nice to sit outside. I think that a hotel of this type should have room cleaning every day. It's not one budget hotel. Better ventilation is also desired. Bathroom products in the bathroom should be replenished - felt that it was empty. But I always get great at the hotel.

Strömstad Spa & Resort is a nice NHR hotel. It is located in north part of Strömstad and can really be seen as a resort hotel with lots of activities close, you can play golf and go for very nice nature hiking or running or just do ypga and welcoming the sun and the sea 🥰. If you want dining there are many options in Strömstad and also at the hotel food is great. To get into Strömstad city you take a small ferry and you have to buy an access card in the reception. Staff is very nice at the hotel and I was upgraded to a balcony suite with great view (it was exactly the same suite I had 2 years ago 👻, 3503). I can just say that I loved this stay and breakfast was a level above expectations with fresh made omelette and waffles. SPA and Sauna is great but it is not included in room fee (you pay additional 295 sek - 2:1 with platinum), SPA (pool and sauna) should be included in expensive room prices 🥲

Was on a short stay with a visit to the spa and food included in the stay, and is very satisfied! Will be happy to come back if a new offer should appear. The staff sorted out all the questions and wishes we had, so we felt very well taken care of!

Have been to this hotel 2 times before and had a great experience. Now on the 3rd visit it seems that Strawberry group has taken over and suddenly imposed different rules. Spa has previously been free for Hotel guests. Suddenly now they want to charge 30 € per entry per person. This is a hotel outside of everything. So does not make any sense. Prices also have doubled since before covid. And if you add to the extra cost of Spa Prices have actually gone almost 4x which does not make any sense. Children are only allowed between 9-11 in the morning. So if a family with 2 adults and a child wants to Visit the Spa. Well the evening Adult spa visit costs 60€ extra and then the New trip in the morning with child would cost an additional 90€ so a total of 150€ to visit the spa. And its just a small pool, a jacuzzi and a few saunas etc. Nothing special. Interesting is that nowhere on the website when ordering, in the order confirmation or other place does it say that Spa has an additional charge And when ordering spa time it says price but specifies that that price is for non hotel guests so one would assume then based on this that it is free for Hotel guests but no. Strawberry group is all about squeezing their customers with overpriced everything. So will never set my foot here again and hope this serves as a warning to other customers to stay away. Other details from the stay. Double bed is not a double bed its 2 single put together, Even though it is represented as double in the photo, Rooms very noisy you can hear someone walking by on the carpet outside room and there is a lot of people walking all the time, door between rooms is a single non sound proof door so you can hear everyone else and every word they talk about. Toilet seat was loose and wall mounted toilet so high you cannot reach the ground with your feet and I am 175cm Tall. Shower only movable partial glass so entire bathroom got soaking wet when showering not pleasant for the other person in the room. No soap bar only wall mounted big bottles of shampoo and soap with dispenser. Reminds me of a hospital or the cheapest hotels around not something that is marketed as your best getaway. Also there is a big public parking lot 50 meters before hotel which is free on sunday and after 15:00 on Saturday so if you are checking in on Saturday no need to pay 20€ for hotel parking in a overpriced parking garage. (this is in the middle of nowhere.

Unfortunately, Strømstad SPA does not live up to expectations. It should be relatively newly renovated, but already has some dirty touch. On the floor of the room there were glass pieces that we fortunately discovered before we were injured. The hotel took a good time before they came to vacuum and then took a quick round in the middle of the floor, so to avoid cutting us we used shoes inside the rest of the stay. The bathroom floor was ice cold, so here we had to stand on towels. The food was average. I expected better. This applies to both dinner and breakfast. For breakfast they had been told that one on the trip had a gluten allergy, but the only offer was some unpleasant crackbread. Other hotels I've been to have individual packed pieces so they don't have to throw away what's not eaten, so there are good solutions. No gluten free musli. We stood over the SPA department this time, so it may be that it is so good that it defends a stay at this hotel. Simply disappointing. We have been here before, and then the experience has been much better in all respects, so something has happened in the last few years that is not good.

Worst experience After ownership change, I have been here multiple times over the last few years and it has always been a pleasent experience until today apparently Strawberry Group took over this since last time I was here. Suddenly prices doubled ok fine prices have increased a bit lately but when you find out you have to pay 30 € for pool/ Spa access per person when you stay at the hotel for each entry to the pool well thats the worst Ripoff ever. Its just a small indoor pool. Staff not friendly and entire experience a disasterI spend some years over 200 + nights in hotels around the world. Experience at This hotel is the worst so far, Beware of Ripoff parking garage when there is free parking just 100 meters away during weekends, Ruined my weekend since I was planning evening and Morning visit to the Spa. I am banning Strawberry Group from all my future hotel bookings and will enforce a total ban for all employees of our group of companies to any hotel or group linked to Strawberry Group. Thats a loss of like 5000+ hotel nights per year.

I would go to the SPA to be able to relax and just take it easy, get away from home a bit after the stress after Christmas and New Year. Well, I got it. I paid over 5000 to bathe in the local bath house and live in a student corridor it feels like. There were so many people in the pool area that you could barely fit in anything other than the pool, which was actually very cold. And if you found a place in the hot tub, for example, you couldn't leave it, because it disappeared faster than you could blink. "Silence spa" people didn't seem to be able to read the door, because there was shouting and talking both loudly and all the time.
After a buffet that was okay, but nothing to rave about. If you're a vegan, there wasn't much to eat, I registered. When we got up to the room, the bed was super nice, but with a stain on the duvet from something that had been on it, it looked like, the TV super small and with two white spots in the middle on. Someone also had a party in their room so there was loud music until 02-03 and then I still told the guards at the reception, it was quiet for a while before it started again. The neighboring room had a balcony, and I went out on it to smoke and suddenly slammed the door behind me so it rattled in the room..
The breakfast was superb! Very happy with it!

Steer away. After previous visits here I was looking forward to returning now. The last visit was in 2018 and we were delighted then. I expect when you book into a spa hotel that you can enter the spa department at no extra cost, but you don't. We booked access for 2 days and paid a good deal for it and then the maximum time is 2 hours. Dinner was a disaster. Ordered mussels which were most likely reheated, they were so chewy and dry they were inedible. Sent it back and got a new portion which was just as bad. But still, we had to pay full price even though we hardly touched the food. We were offered entry to the spa, but we had already paid for it in advance. This is bad service. The rooms are worn. Smells of mold in the bathroom and many cracked/broken tiles. If you choose to take a shower, you must expect the whole room to be soaking wet as there is no shower cubicle that stays up.
The service needs to be worked on and the food needs to be improved to the price level you are at.

Booked a trip between colorline and it was neat. We have been to the strømstad spa many times before, a few years ago and been very pleased. This time we traveled with our son in 10 years. He looked forward to using the pool to swim. We come down on Saturday afternoon and get ready to swim and it turns out that the pool is closed for children after 17:00. That's too bad. Understand that it is a time for children and swimming but to close so early I think is silly. Disappointed boy was promised bathing the day after. We used then buffet restaurant instead which was also nothing higher. Great food but just clean. Nothing exciting. The next day we used the pool with our son and it was fun until we checked out. Then the hotel should have 250 kr per person (actually 290 per person but got a little discount since we had booked through colorline) for having used the pool area? Hold on getting shocked, 750 extra for this. I was completely put out in the front desk and wondered if this was not included in the price as it was before here? No, that was extra. Here you go to a spa hotel and actually have to pay extra to use the pool. Understand it is extra for spa treatment but in this case it was so you had to pay for access to the pool. It's for bad electric city spa!!! So with parking and access to the pool there was 1000 kr extra on the bill. Disappointing.
