Naxian Collection is a complex of luxurious villas & suites each one with its own personal style. All of them are built according to the traditional architecture of Cyclades. Even though Naxian Collection is only 2km far from Naxos town and 700 meters from the famous beach of St Prokopios, it still affords its guests plenty of relaxing privacy. Built upon a hill of great natural beauty, the hotel boasts a panoramic view of this exquisite corner of the Aegean.

I stayed with a friend in the two bedroom pool villa. The villa itself was lovely, albeit quite dark – think lots of shades of grey. The bathrooms were very big and modern and the bedroom was very quiet. The pool was reasonably large with a nice outdoor area, although there was very little privacy with other villas able to see directly in. The service upon check-in was impeccable. We were given a glass of wine and taken through all the sights were could explore on the island. This was very helpful. As we had hired a car, we were then able to zip around the island to explore some of the inner villages but, if you stayed here without a car, you would be quite isolated. It’s not really a walk-able (or attractive) distance to town although you can make it to the beaches or a local supermarket by foot. The issue, however, that really let this place down for me was the restaurant. Given how isolated you are, it would be nice to have confidence that the hotel restaurant would have enough variety or good food on offer to eat there more than once. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The menu is very limited it (like three appetisers, three mains) and what is on offer is, I’m sorry, quite boring. Broiled chicken breast really isn’t fine dining … or even smart casual dining! The owners are quite proud that they grow their own vegetables but I think to do them justice they need to show them off in more interesting and refined food, particularly with a Greek flavour.

We stayed for 2 nights during our 14 day trip to Greece. We loved visiting Naxos, and loved walking through Naxos Town nearby. We did not rent a car during our stay in Naxos, and that was a bit of a hassle given the location of the Naxian Collection. We could walk to nearby Plaka beach and the other beaches nearby, but the walk requires you to walk along the main road and traffic is a bit dicey as bikes, trucks, cars and buses fly by at high rates of speed. Taxis to Naxos Town were easy to get and cost 12 Euros. The staff at the resort are very friendly and willing to help in any way. Breakfast buffet is serviceable but not great. Our room came with a pool and a hot tub but the heating element on the hot tub never really warmed (staff said it would take 40 minutes but we never got it warmer than around 75 Fahrenheit). Pool was very cold but that wasn't too surprising given that we were there in October and I would not expect a resort like this to provide heated pools given that they close for the season in late October. Our room looked out over the airport area which might sound a bit concerning but it was fine as the Naxos airport (at least in October) doesn't get much traffic. We could see the ocean from our balcony but I wouldn't categorize it as an "ocean view" room -- some rooms on the front side of the resort may have had a better view of the ocean and Naxos Town.

Naxos is a really amazing island. Overshadowed by Santorini and Mykonos, it doesn't get the attention it deserves, but that's all to your benefit - and the Naxian Collection is the perfect base of operations to enjoy the island. Perched atop a hill with views of Chora (Naxos Town) to one side and the beautiful south western beach shore to the other, the Naxian Collection is a gem. The Collection is a bunch of villas (each with their own private pool) surrounding a central building that houses the concierge, breakfast area and bar. The place is incredibly relaxing and is a great refuge away from the bustle of both the town and the beach. The villas are large and comfortable, with great views. But what sets the Naxian Collection apart is the personal service. The concierge (Theo) is incredible. He was tremendously patient, helpful and accommodating in response to many emails pestering him before we arrived (restaurants/reservations, bike rental and other activities, etc.). Our rule: "Always listen to Theo." He was amazing (and even helped us with recommendations for Athens as our next stop). The only downside of the Naxian Collection is that it isn't an easy walk either to the town or to the beach. It's possible, but not a great or pretty walk (busy-ish road). But both are a short cab ride or drive if you have a car (which we did and which is a good idea on Naxos anyway). In my view, this was a worthy tradeoff for the tranquility of the hotel.

When I think of Greece I think of hospitality-Philoxenia. Perhaps it’s the state of recovery right now in Greece but I didn’t feel it until we arrived to Naxos. We were greeted by Theo with a glass of the best wine which was made on Naxos. Theo, Juliana, Suala made us feel right at home and made us wish we planned a week not just a few days. Simple elegance, a home cooked gourmet kitchen and views to put you to sleep and wake you in the morning. I want to go back! We did the cooking class with Juliana and it was like having a meal my Yiayia prepared. It’s on my #1 place to return.

Stayed at Naxian for one night when we were in Naxos. The front desk host who we interacted with most was extremely helpful in our early check in, getting us comfortable with a freddo cappuccino when we arrived, and arranging for a scooter rental. The suite itself was very nice and we took advantage of the steam shower and semiprivate pool. Breakfast was plentiful with many fresh options to choose from and eggs may also be ordered. The only complaint we could have which isn't specific to the hotel itself was the quantity of flies outside of the property.
