This s a good option to stay at Agios Prokopios in Naxos. A cozy hotel with rooms that have a nice view to the sea. The hotel is quite with a pool that you can enjoy if you don’t want to trouble with the sea. Breakfast was served at Macao cafe as it was arranged with the hotel which is the cafe right in front of the hotel. There is free parking. Staff are friendly in general but there are limited services provided by the hotel. Tip: there is a fridge in the room to store things.
We spent 6 nights in Ariadne hotel. Our room was a Panoramic Sea View Suite, on the top floor with a nice swimming pool and beach view. The hotel is at the famous Agios Prokopios beach, which is probably the best sandy beach in Naxos. But you are literally a few minutes away by car from Agia Anna and Plaka beaches, which are also top. The room was spacious and cosy, with a very comfortable double bed and a spacious bathroom with a shower enclosure. There was a Nespresso coffee machine in the room. Everything was very very clean and cleaned daily with extra attention due to Covid. The polite staff made us feel very welcome and gave us good directions every time we needed information. There is some parking space in the hotel, but you can get there only if you have a rather compact car (our VW Polo could fit), otherwise, if you have a large SUV for example, you will have to use the Ag. Prokopios beach parking, which gets quiet only late at night. Breakfast was served in the Macao beach bar in front of the hotel and was of high quality. However, sunbeds and parasols for rent on the Agios Prokopios beach are quite expensive, mostly because they are always overbooked. We used our own parasol and beach chairs in the free area of the beach and we recommend you do the same. There are many choices for lunch, dinner and drinks at Agios Prokopios beach, but we also recommend that you visit the Naxos town as well as the villages of Naxos, like Filoti and Ano Potamia, where you will find more traditional local food in the restaurants.…
I’ll start this review by saying that Naxos was our favorite island of the bunch (went to santorini and Mykonos too). I discounted it because it was sort of a stop off between the more popular two, but I was SO glad we did it and spent three nights there (good amount of time although one more may be best if you like beach exploring or relaxing)! This hotel has an ideal beach location! It is just steps from (what I heard) is the most popular beach on the island, Agios Prokopios (?). Despite the popularity, the area was NOT too crowded, particularly around this hotel and we found it to be just perfect for amazing beach views and beach days. I would splurge on the beach view room because it is worth it! I saw a lot of reviews on this hotel and many talked about service. We were greeted nicely and they were nice at breakfast, but I honestly did not have the same service we had in our Athens or Mykonos hotels (see those reviews for more info). We needed an extra blanket the first night and nobody was at the front desk, nor was there a phone to call anybody. Maybe there was somebody we could contact but we weren’t given that info at check in so that was a bummer. They took care of it the next day when we asked in the AM, but this was the only hotel where we didn’t have somebody available all of the time (if need be) and the first hotel where we weren’t provided a lot of info on their service, the island itself, etc. We ended up getting most of the info from other locals, cab drivers, etc. Again - I would stay at this hotel simply because of the great location, beautiful views, and amazing pool (it’s gorgeous! Not right on the oceanfront like I thought but doesn’t matter). Aside from being right at the beach, it was about a 10 euro cab ride to the main town, and steps away from a ton of restaurants. If you go to Naxos (GO!), stay here! Spend a day at the beach. Rent a car for another day and see the island (we didn’t decide to do this until we got there and went to one of the several agencies right nearby and grabbed a car for 30 euro that morning - 50 euro in gas so be prepared for that)! That was the best time and probably the easiest island to navigate on your own! Stop at Eggares Olive Press (our favorite part and recommended by our Mykonos hotel) and drive the coast back. Worth it and takes just the day to do (or less if you don’t stop as much as we did!) In town, we loved Swing bar for great cocktails (try one with the local Kitron liquor) and Flamingo (the next rooftop) for great seafood! (Pick a fish and let them filet it.) Although Naxos town is a great place to walk around and see, I would absolutely prefer the beach location just because it’s so, so worth it! Be prepared too for cold ocean water, but get in because you get used to it quickly!…
Well what a great Hotel. Super friendly and helpful staff, anything you need they will help facilitate. Room amenities are very good and air con is BOOMING cold if you wish! Breakfast 8am-10am very typical food style in Greece. No restaurant or bar but that means you save money on the bar and you have the pleasure of eating out at the promenade of Agios Prokopious. Massive selection and competitive rates for your custom. The hotel pool is super clean and fresh no salt! Unlike Mykonos...salty pools. Wonderful stay; solo and even better for families! 30 seconds from the beach and 120 seconds from the public bus taking you to and from the port of Naxos. Not far from the airport too! Enjoy your stay.
This place is unbelievable we were there last year and we came back to visit Ariadni Because we had a great time The Hosts ( Vaggelis,Katerina & Vassiliki ) Went out of their way to make our stay as pllesent as it can get THANK YOU WIIL BE BACK
Clean hotel. Nice pool (not sure if it was heated or not but it felt warm and nice). Beds were a bit hard so we asked for an extra mattress, slept well. AC worked fine. About a 25 second walk to one of the best beaches on Naxos. The staff were friendly, answered questions and knew basic English. Breakfast was basic but OK. Some cereal, milk, eggs, bread, butter, different things to put on the bread, pies, fruits, etc. I would recommend this hotel because of the price (I think it was well priced compared to hotels close by??) and also the location, but if we go back again I won’t book this hotel straight away. I’ll have a look first. We are happy with our stay! Oh, and yeah... if you see the two big ponds on the map, close to the hotel, I think these are the “poop and pee ponds” as we called them. There is no smell at the hotels or on the beach, only if you walk right next to the ponds. And kids, don’t got for a swim.. 😆…
This is one of the best quality rooms we have ever stayed in, sound proofed and good thick walls, quality everywhere, we were never disturbed by anyone or anything, basic breakfast, nice small swimming pool, and only 10 meters from the most perfect beach i have ever seen, we were lucky to find this hotel at the last minute, we were so impressed by the rooms we requested prices for the up coming year but unfortunally they were way to high for a 3 star hotel and out of our price range, we were lucky to stay there this year though.
A family run hotel right on the beach! The pool was beautiful and large!!! A quick 2 min walk to the beach and restaurants. Breakfast was enjoyable with a variety of foods from cold cuts and breads to Greek pastries and specialties! Also, fresh eggs were prepared for you upon request! The only place that made the eggs in front of you on our trip! A lovely touch! Room was a bit outdated- it seems they are in the process of renovations- photos on website made us aware of that before. Room was very spacious, clean and provided a safe and fridge! The balcony was our favorite part, as it overlooked the beach and pool! Perfect for a bottle of wine to end the evening. Our only issue was the old a/c unit. Most Greek hotels require you to have the key in the slot for a/c and lights to work. The a/c was slow and took a very long time to cool the room down. A small issue that would not impede us from booking again here! We fell in love with this boutique hotel! …
We stayed at Ariadne hotel for more than a week in August. The hotel is loitered a few steps from the beach and this makes it ideal for small children. The rooms are big, comfortable and very clean. The owners are very friendly and helpful. I hope we will come back again!
We just spent ten lovely days here and were very sad to leave. Our room was large and airy, with a balcony big enough for table and chairs to eat dinner. Plenty of room too for hanging washing out or leaving swim gear to dry. There was no noise at night, although the restaurants and bars are very close. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean with a nice shower. The kitchenette clean and in working order., it was nice to eat in a few times with food from the local supermarket. The fridge was more than big enough for our purposes....wine, beer and salads. The owners are very friendly and easy going, and they will do everything to make you comfortable. I think there are only 12 rooms so they always have time for their guests. The swimming pool is fantastic, with a sloping deep middle, so plenty of room for families with kids at either end. There are ample sun beds and umbrellas and the area is cleaned daily as are the rooms. The breakfast is served at whatever time you like. The selection is perhaps smaller than other hotels, but there are enough cold meats, cheeses, Greek yogurt, breads and honey, jams and marmalade. One of the owners will also make you a delicious omelette if you wish...he usually insists anyway :) If you walk down past the pool, or outside on the path, you will reach the beach in about thirty seconds. It is one of the best beaches on Naxos...turn left and walk, and keep walking...it's worth it if you enjoy LONG walks on the sand. you may have to take to the road for a few minutes on the way but the beach carries on after that for several kilometers. Also, if you are a SCUBA diver, Blue Fin Divers dive centre is literally three minutes walk away. Highly recommended. See separate review. We would book this hotel again without hesitation, we loved our stay. A really friendly place to stay.…
