Just returned from a week's stay in this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our room was lovely with a sea view. The dining room had a stunning view of the islands and the food was excellent with lots of choice. The whole hotel had a calm, relaxed atmosphere and our Saga package was superb value for money. We also had brilliant weather and would definitely return! Thank you, Hotel Palas!

The Palas hotel is in a very beautiful location, situated in a small golf on the striking south coast of Montenegro. The hotel is closed to the beach, being separated only by the promenade. There is an outdoor swimming pool (unfortunately without showers!) surrounded by plenty of long chairs/chaise longues ± umbrellas. Adjacent to the pool there is an with lot of trees (with singing birds all around day) and more chairs. The interior of the hotel is majestic by being open plan and by using marble and glass. Common areas are very spacious and elegant, exquisitely decorated. My room with a fantastic sea-view was spacious, but overcrowded by (falling apart due to salty air?) furniture. I had succeeded to painfully knock myself every day in the furniture when I was “navigating” the room. Expect plenty of mosquito bites. No anti-bugs room spray was provided by the reception (I have been using my repellent “mosi-guard natural” during the nights with no success)! The shower room was large at first sight very elegant with high quality cosmetic products and a lot of towels. However, during shower the water was collecting outside the shower area, the water draining system not well designed. In my opinion the cleaning of the bathroom and of the room could be better! When asked, the cleaner dutifully vacuumed the carpet or changed the bed (after 5 warm nights). The restaurant is in a large, elegant, spacious, well ventilated room (when widows were opened). Food is fantastic, continental, buffet style, beautifully presented, very tasteful. There is a large range of antipasti, salads, main courses (meat or vegetarian) and extensive range of cakes/fruit. Many compliments to the chef Ivan and his team which work very hard every day to cook and present this large range of courses! The waiters are young, very polite, friendly, helpful (thank you Sanda, Pavle, Luca and Selma for your service). The wellness & spa area (with massage rooms, pool, sauna, gym etc) is a world apart as design, service and cleanness. I have used here only the massage treatments which are very professional and efficient. My therapist, lovely Sanja, trained as physiotherapist at University, has really healing hands, very much recommended. The service at this Spa deserves 5 stars! Also running for 5 stars is the personnel at the pool bar very friendly and hard workers Vesna and Neno. People at this bar are very, very friendly and quick to serve you. Thank you very much to you The beach was not very clean (beginning of season?), however busy with locals with kids. Unfortunately the sea water was dirty day after day, but resilient fish could be se swimming around. There is a very good speedy Wifi service in the hotel! PS Some staff at the restaurant and the reception should have more training in their respective job/profession (eg they are not greeting their guest, look superior at their guests, postponed to solve the problem (like: let it for tomorrow, when they do not dare to come and ask again). They do not know that their jobs are to be polite and helpful with their paying hotel guest? It is pity that this hotel has no aspirations! Maybe it should have an exchange of staff with other well run hotels and restaurants, to see how things are properly done in the field.

The staff is not friendly, they did not ask us how our trip was, felt sorry for our rebooking, did not explain anything about the hotel, keep speaking German & French to us even if we're talking English back, don't serve us when outside while sitting inside on their mobile with 5 people, they never say hi (even not during dinner), they did not help us with booking trips because they said they don't know anything and ask us if we cannot ask the French hotel guests for advice. There is really just no service at all... The gym is paid even for hotel guests. We did not know so we walked in without saying it to the woman and men behind the counter. They shouted: what are you doing and we explained we want to have a short gym session. They again shouted: 5 euro's for gym and 5 euro's for spa entrance. So I just asked in a friendly manner if also hotel guests should pay? Again the only answer was: 5 euro's for gym and 5 euro's for spa entrance. Again the website is suggesting it is free but it isn't. Our room is outdated. We got see sight but also sight on a rooftop. The sliding door to the balcony is falling out of it's frame and is not closing. Everyone can enter our room by the balcony. We even got a situation that the door would not open up and they send someone to fix it. It was fixed but the next time we opened it again it felt out. The airconditioning is off during the day when it is most hot outside. So when you're spending some time in your room during daytime the temperature is around 26 degrees inside.. even at night our airconditioning is not working and they won’t fix it. Asked for the manager but was not around. The food is horrible. Even breakfast.. We decided to go out eating the rest of the days we are here because it is that bad. We are lucky food is not that expensive in Montenegro. The meat is dry, potatoes are drenched in fat and during breakfast there is not even some fresh bread that you can cut yourself. There is no private beach and you even need to pay to lie on the beds. A lot in this hotel is written in the language of the country. We even translated the whole snackmenu ourselves because there is no English version.

Good hotel. Reception staff very helpful. Food ok but could of done with being a bit warmer. Bar staff need help with customer service. Supposed to be a no smoking hotel but for some reason people seem to be able to vape indoors which is not ideal as a no smoker

Great location, around 100 meters far from the beach, rooms r very nice & very clean, bathrooms r recently renewed, would recommend room w. sea view, it is worth extra money, very good stuff, very helpful & polite, very good food & always great selection of different food, /french fries not available /, family friendly place, both pools r very nice, parking lot is pretty cramped but this was the peak of the season and hotel was full, wi fi worked fine all the time both in all hotel areas & room/ , if u want to book seabeds both by the pool and on the beach u have to do it early morning, seabeds by the pool are free of charge , seabeds on the hotel beach cost 8 Euros for 2 seabeds, we really enjoyed our vacation, would recommend it.

This is my third stay and I had a lot of previous visits to this hotel in different time periods. Once upon a time it was the best hotel in Petrovac and that was the reason I have chosen it again. Well this season is different than all others and therefore cannot compare. All I can say a medal to the staff. Really did their best to keep up with the standards. Everybody is polite and helpful. Everything is great apart from the parking (I know that the hotel was built in early eighties when there were not so many cars) and sun beds (I am on vacation I don’t want to wake up at six o’clock to get one at the beach ore eight the latest to get one at the pool). Breakfast food was great but dinner could be better in my opinion. Missing the french fries or some other food (like e.g. pasticada). One more thing I didn’t like was that the new Palas Lux was using the amenities of our hotel and perhaps that made the crowd even bigger. All in all good hotel, would recommend it but not for the full price (I made the booking in April with the discount). Once again praise for the stuff (sometimes I even missed the old Montenegrin “hospitality” like once the guy told me and my mother if we wanted water with dinner to take it from the swimming pool 😂,now they provide you with plenty of water) All the best guys for the remaining of the season. Hopefully will visit again

Condition: Rooms and balconies are spacious. Bathroom was ok. A lot of stairs with no ramp for strollers or wheelchair. Parking: Not enough parking spots and terrible organization. Cars are parked everywhere and even if you manage to park your car somewhere, it is very stressfull. Even more frustrating was when the parkin guy came and said that he can "save" this terrible place for us if we leave, but this will cost 10 euros. He doesn't even look like he is working there and there is no garantee that he can save the spot, because the whole place is totally chaotic. I reccommend other parking places where you can pay regularly and avoid this stress. Beach/Pool: Indoor and outdoor pools have seawater. Big enough and ok. There is also a small indoor pool (0.5 m) for children/infants. I didn't like that there the pools were not observed by the staff and it took me some time to find the guy responisble for pools when 4-5 young people (around 16-19) entered this small pool claiming they are children. Do not reccommend the beach, because it smells like waste water. Food: We stayed here for 7 days. The food was mostly very tastefull and had god variety. Still, I reccomend not to show up late, but at least 30 min before end of the breakfast/dinner. Cleaning/service: The room and the bathroom were clean, but there were some small things that I find a little bit annoying: 1.There was still toothbrush package from the previous guests, in one of the drawers. 2. Bed sheets for sofa-bed were not there and we had to contact reception for this. 3. The safety box was defective. We found out that it needed new batteries and had to be cleaned, because the previous battery leaked. We contacted the reception and gave us new batteries and said that it looks like it doesn't work and they will call someone to repair it another day. We had to fix this issue and then called them again to restart/activate the box. 4. The room next to ours had some meals in the room and they placed plates with rests and glasses in front of the door, on the little table in the corridor. Nobody cleaned it for 4 days! It looks like maids think that is not their job and someone from the restaurant should take it. Overall impression is that staff doesn't have a proper communication between each other. Reception can't help with parking, maids don't communicate with restaurant...

Very polite and professional staff. However not respect all measures as people in the restaurant are avoiding to wear masks and no one is controlling it. No beach separate for hotel guests and there is too much people.

The best feature of this hotel is the location. It’s right on the sea front and the promenade is lovely with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. This is a very good resort for families. The hotel is nice, rooms are very clean with nice balcony. There’s a safe and a fridge. The restaurant in the hotel is okay, food is reasonable and some nice selection but it was a bit of the same every evening. It’s a shame that dinner is only on for two hours 7-9pm in the evening. If I were to go back I would not choose half board and go out to eat at the lovely restaurants which were a lot nicer and reasonably priced too. The pool area is fine with a reasonable amount of sun beds - you had to get up about 8am to secure the best ones. The beach is overcrowded and shingles. From what we saw when walking around the town, this appeared to be one of the best hotels in the resort for the decent sized pool area.
