This hotel at first look looks very impressive, but look just a little closer and you'll see it needs someone to love it and look after it. It's run down. We had to feel our way to the room as most of the lights in the corridor didn't work. There are signs that this was once a very smart place, but sadly, there has seen little investment. Our room was very big, but very dated. Woodchip wall paper, old, poorly maintained sash windows that let the wind in. The bathroom was huge, but no extractor. This means the wallpaper was peeling off. The plumbing was noisy. When the room next door ran a tap or flushed the toilet, the pipes howled like a jet engine. No staff over night, so you get a front door key. Slightly worried about what would happen if there was a fire. We were only there one night, and it was a pleasnt stay, but this hotel really needs to spend money on making itself nice again. It has huge potential, Great price, great breakfast.

We arrived late to the hotel around 9 PM to be greeted at the reception by: good you arrived before 10 Pm because you won't find anybody here at night. We checked it to a an old furnished room that was cold and torn out. Dirty carpet and and no feeling of comfort is felt. Very cold and you feel like you are watching a scary movie. No phone in the room so if anything happens, you can call for help from the window... Bathroom is barely provided and very cold. I couldn't take a proper shower for lack of heat / hot water in this cold weather. The Staff are very friendly and they are trying their best but the whole place needs a re-furbishing to meet the 3* at least .

A clean and welcoming hotel. The rooms are as expected clean and comfortable. There’s a large bar and a good restaurant. It’s proximity to Thetford forest and many attractions nearby make it an ideal location.

We stayed here for just 1 night. We were welcomed in, check in was super simple and we were then taken to our room and showed around which was nice. We arrived quite late maybe 10 pm amd the heating was on which was great as it was rather very cold out. The lady who showed us round to our room was very chatty and friendly which is something you don't get at the larger chain type hotels. We were told the room was basic but it suited my family's needs perfectly, warm comfey bed bathroom and parking which was free, another bonus as previously at other hotels we have been charged! The room had been left with enough towels so the 4 of us could shower and not have to share/ask for more towels which we have had yo do previously. As for the complementary tea and coffee there was more than enough for a brew before bed an 2 before breakfast! Sunday mornimg breakfast, large selection of fruit, cereals and cooked breakfast, all buffet style. My children were able to help themselves and they loved what they ate. Both being really picky eaters this was a huge relief! Times were in place for breakfast but appeared flexible as at no time did we feel rushed to finish and get out which made for a chilled and relaxed start to the day. After this back to our room to pack last bits before check out. Again this was a real simple affair we were wary greated by the manager Claire if I remember rightly who asked how if we enjoyed our stay, what our plans were for the Rest of the day, and wished us a pleasant onward journey. I'm sure my family and I will be back again to this wonderful hotel.
