Met a few people for some food and drinks. Good atmosphere but bar service is awful. Never enough staff working. Ordered 8 dishes, the burger and fish and chips were good but the grilled fish was over cooked. 70% of us enjoyed the food. Reasonable price if used with the entertainment voucher.

Visited recently with a number of other families to plan our holiday. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The food and drink was standard fayre, but what really impressed me was the attitude of the staff. Both food and drinks were served with a genuine smile, I had a sense that the staff genuinely cared about the quality... More

About 50 years ago, Nedlands was a well regarded middle class suburb , but nothing special. When the Western Australian economy went crazy wit the latest mining boom, so did house prices in Nedands. It is now a very expensive suburb, with many houses resembling the Pathenon. The "Cap S," likewise was a good place for a drink, but a... More

I should have stuck with the pub food in the Bistro. Their chicken parma and pies are acceptable but the tuna at $34.90 was a disgrace. If I hadn't been a guest at the table I would have sent it back.

This is for poor Uni students only. I ordered port schnitzel, and got a black, deep fried piece of shoe leather that was beef! I sent it back, and returned with a less burnt, but still well ovcooked, piece of beef again! Does the kitchen staff not know the difference between beef and pork? The staff have changed, and are... We popped in hera for a quick meal instead of cooking in a hot kitchen. The selection is good the staff efficient and the food plentiful. The Caesar salads were delicious and the chicken parma good, big and with wonderful chips.

I stayed here nearly 2 weeks back in March. I have stayed in Hotels before but nothing like this one, you had to share everything from the bathroom to breakfast. My room was tiny, all I had was a bed, a TV & a fan. I didn't realise what I was getting for $100+ a night but did expect better,... More

Tried the Captain Stirling pub for a date night. Had the cheeseburger and sweet potato fries - it was alright. Staffs were friendly and the atmosphere was lively for a Monday night. Wouldn't mind going again.

The Captain Stirling is named after the founder of the Swan River Colony, Captain James Stirling, later Admiral Sir James Stirling. The 'Cap S' was built in 1935 by Bertie Johnson, a controversial Senator for Western Australia. The Cap S has long been a social centre for the Nedlands area, one of Perth's more affluent suburbs. It's also popular with... More

My partner and I needed a one night stay in Perth before traveling overseas. I booked online for a Wednesday night. We met the manager who booked us in and after payment of the room he informed us that Wednesday night was uni night and it could be a little noisier then usual. We decided to have dinner first. I...
