We recently stayed at Casa Roja for a week. This is a fantastic area for wildlife, particularly birds. Given that the spring migration period and breeding season were over and the autumn migration period had not got underway the list of species seen was impressive. How can you lie in bed when the early morning lilting chorus of Bee-Eaters has...

We enjoyed a wonderful 4 days here, and Robert and Eva were perfect hosts. It is remote, so don't come if you want easy access to local amenities, but you will find almost everything you can need in the very spacious accommodation. The motorway is not the distraction you might think, and should not affect your decision. The food is...

We were brilliantly looked after by our hosts with lovely food, company and accommodation. The whole emphasis was on first class customer service and nothing was left to chance. We look forward to returning there soon and would unhesitatingly recommend this place to others who enjoy a less commercialised area in Spain.

Myself and my partner stayed two weeks in the self catering appartment in early July 2011. The location is breathtaking with wonderful views and aspects of the unspoilt surrounding coastline. The appartment was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and everything you needed was provided for. We kept saying to ourselves 'they really think of everything". Eva and Robert are truly the...

We spent the first week of May 2011 in the self-catering appartment at Casa Roja . Robert and Eva are excellent and very sensitive hosts, they made us feel very welcome, and the meal that Robert cooked for us on the first evening was delicious. The apartment is tastefully and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The immediate...

We had a little trouble finding the Casa Roja and finally had to get rescued by Robert. This is a real gem and well worth the effort to stop. The rooms are very large and luxurious. There is a beautiful panoramic view over the countryside that lends for a great ambience. We never used the pool but it was available...

Stopped on our last night before flying to Barcelona after a busy few days travelling around Andalucia. Very relaxing and enjoyed the stay. I hope to see Robert applying his culinary skills for cooking classes for guests in the not too distance future. Excellent food :)

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa Roja is a finca located in the coastal countryside outside of the charming Spanish resort of Aguilas in the southern region of the province of Murcia. The area is extremely peaceful and calm, and just a few minutes from the undeveloped coastline of Cabo Cope, with many small coves in which to sunbathe, and nature trails along the cliffsides. There are also several hillside trails to ramble around the finca. The sparingly used nearby roads are also popular with cyclists. Casa Roja is only a 15 minute drive to Aguilas, with its variety of cafes, bars and restaurants. Two, new golf courses can be found in the area. Lorca Resort in Lorca, and Aguilón Golf in San Juan de los Terreros. ... more   less
