Parīlio, a Member of Design Hotels, the name of which is derived from ‘Paros’ and the Greek word for the sun ‘ilios’, is a 33-suite retreat characterized by Paros’ timeless simplicity surrounded by amberhued fields, araucaria trees and, of course, the impossibly blue waters of the Aegean Sea. The property is characterized by the island’s distinctive architecture and its interiors are defined by a soothing, tonal color palette and natural materials. Contemporary Greek design pieces sit alongside objets d’art by leading European designers, while striking ceramics sourced from the Marrakech-based studio of LRNCE serve to inspire and provoke conversation. Distinctive structural features such as arches, concrete columns, and thick masonry are representative of traditional building techniques and help to create a sense of sanctuary, resulting in a space that is both cathartic and elemental. For those looking to fully embrace the slowpaced Cycladic way of living, the on-site Asian spa offers the ultimate time out with facial and body treatments that incorporate an Asian-inspired mix of essential oils. Featuring state-of-the-art equipment, the fitness center is ideal for guests who wish to be active and fit during their vacation. Mr. E invites you to taste the island’s famed gastronomic legacy in a space embraced by a verdant, natural environment and ample Cycladic light, surrounded by the wild beauty of Paros’ pastoral landscape. Created by celebrated Chef, Alexandros Tsiotinis, Mr. E is a treat of casual elegance, serving fresh, seasonal Greek and Mediterranean cuisine inspired by the island’s natural bounty. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The poolside bar offers an array of refreshing beverages, creative cocktails as well as favorite snacks and is ideal to unwind by day and night.

This property is beautiful, the staff is wonderful, the food is delicious, but we weren’t expecting our days by the pool to be overwhelmed by screaming children. My friend and I had booked this hotel in Paros for 3 days after spending 3 days on Mykonos. We thought (perhaps naively) that our time in Paros would be relaxing and serene after a more lively time in Mykonos - the design and architecture of the Parīlio hotel seemed to convey a grown up environment - but unfortunately it was difficult to enjoy ourselves because of the sheer volume of children running around. Probably on any day, of the 40 people who can lounge around the pool, 15-20 were children who would be playing very loudly (crying, screaming, yelling). Of course, this is what kids do, I just wasn’t expecting it at this property so wanted to post a review in case the information would be helpful to anyone else considering a stay.

Property's Favorite Review
I totally recommend Parilio to anyone traveling to Paros. It's by far the best hotel in the island, if not Cyclades. Completely in love with the interior. The hotel has a pleasant, soothing ambiance and you get a 'home away from home' feeling. Every single staff member is extremely polite and helpful. The spa is a must!!! The massages and facials are very well priced, they use amazing products and the spa therapists are not only the sweetest and most polite girls but also very very competent. Will be coming back for sure!

The “beach” within walking distance is mud. Scratch that one off. The beach “club” recommended is populated by people with tattoos and is so overcrowded that you cannot even access the 5’ of beach that exists. What people fail to recognize is that there is nothing here. Nothing to do other than go to spa or pool. The pool abuts the road which is across from a rock pile and a construction site. Nice - and well worth the painful ferry experience unless you helicopter at $3k one way. . I had room 505 (which is the nicest) with a full sized pool). The room was fine but it is next to a field of weeds and the parking lot. If you walk outside the resort, There is garbage everywhere. Just like Santorini. I do not care about the price but the principle and false marketing are too much to take. Think long and hard about coming here. I’ve been most everywhere and this place is a scam. I suggest that positive reviewers have either not been someplace nice or are so invested in there effort and spend that they cannot emotionally suggest otherwise. Go to an Amman, a Belmond or a Four Seasons where your odds of being stuck in a valley in a sea of weeds staring at a rock pile are zero. Cannot wait to come back never.

It is important that when you stay at The Parilio that you understand it is a design hotel and that is the design and look of the place is more important than how it works for the customer. Having said that it is a beautiful hotel and an oasis. It is a short drive into Naousa where there are a large range of restaurants ranging from traditional Greek tavernas to high end food. The shared pool is a wonderful freeform swimming pool with two large rocks at either end. Due to the rocks there is a shelf at either end of the pool that is not that obvious when you are swimming. There are plenty of comfortable sunbeds available around the pool and when there was a female on duty, you were regularly topped up with iced water. There is a small outdoor seating area by the pool where there was a reasonable list of food to select for lunch at a reasonable price. You can also have it served to your sunbed. There is a good bar at the pool that serves to late and the mixologist is very good with a knowledge of a large range of cocktails, which are reasonably priced. Our stay at the Parilio did not get off to a good start. Having been really looking forward to staying at the hotel for over two years (the first year we had to cancel due to the restrictions of the global pandemic), when we got to the hotel the manager informed us that we couldn't stay in the hotel due to an electrical fault in one block and that we would be transferred to a hotel in Naousa. Clearly this wasn't what we wanted to hear. She went away for some time and then came back to us and said that we should be really grateful that she had managed to put us in a Sun Suite with a private pool for two nights, as if it was our fault that we couldn't be put up in the Halo Suite that we had booked. When we were being shown to the Sun Suite, which was outside of the main building one of the design issues was pointed out to us by the person escorting us. The walkway and steps were all white with gaps and in the full light shadows that were indistnguishable from those gaps. Just after she had explained this to us she tripped down a step that she thought was a shadow. The Sun Suite had a lovely rural outlook and a good size swimming pool. The room itself (almost identical to the Halo suite we spent our last night in) looked lovely and was full of design features. The bedside units looked fantastic but had no where to put anything like phones, Kindles, diaries or any storage area. The shower was cleverly designed but it was impossible to have a shower without the shower mat getting completely soaked. The cupboard where you hung your clothes was a lovely piece of furniture but had a glass front, as my wife said, it was like displaying your clothes in a museum. I know that bed hardness is a matter of taste, but the bed was incredibly soft (both in this suite and the Halo suite), so I had trouble sleeping in it. Given the age that we live in there weren't enough customer sockets available to charge devices. Breakfast is served in the restaurant. There isn't a buffet but you select from a wide range of options. However the waiting staff like you to put in your whole order for breakfast and then bring it to you all at the same time, which isn't how most customers would want to eat it. When our two nights were up in the Sun Suite we were asked to pack up our suitcase and to be out of the room by 11am. We weren't informed of where our Halo Suite was until 4pm. Other luxury hotels that we have stayed in on Greek Islands have transferred our belonging to the new suite seemlessly without all the hassle of having to pack and unpack. We're very glad that we have had the experience of staying at The Parilio and my recommendation would be that it is good for a short stay. For a longer stay I would recommend the Summer Senses which has a higher quality of service and has more of a focus on ensuring the guests have a good experience.

This hotel is beautifully laid out and the service is excellent. The pool is great as is the on site restaurant. It is a hike to the beach, but we did not mind that. It was easy to get a car into Naoussa at night, though each trip was about 15 Euro.

When we first arrived we had a couple of hiccups. There was an electrical issue with the room and they considered moving us elsewhere. After a bumpy start they were able to fix the issue and we had the most pleasant stay. This is a hotel that I want to return to over and over again. I found the staff to be incredibly nice, even though at times they missed some things. For example, once we asked them to call us a taxi (through WhatsApp texting which we found to be a quite convenient method of communication in general) and they said they would, and then a few minutes later we arrived at the front desk and they seemed confused about whether a car had been called yet (it had not). On the other hand, the staff was always willing to assist with any request and they had good suggestions (we liked going to the nearby private beach of Monasteri which they hotel had recommended; other beaches may be “better” but this was very close to the hotel and very nice for our purposes). The porters would rush to help with our bags, the pool attendants were attentive and always brought little refreshments, and the hotel driver (an extra cost but worth it) was so nice and helpful. The room (we had a Halo Suite) was perfectly designed and we loved our large patio area (most rooms seemed to have these). The whole design of the hotel was beautiful and I couldn’t stop taking pictures! Oh and there is a chic little lobby store that had THE best curated little goodies. I couldn’t help but pick up a few items…more than once. The breakfast at the hotel is also fantastic - maybe my favorite of all of Greece. The menu isn’t extensive but everything tasted great, and they made the best freddos I had the whole trip. I can see how some other comments about confusing service would make you think twice about booking but do not be deterred. For us, the little hiccups were not a problem that detracted from our overall stay. Paros is our new favorite island and when we come back we will return to Parilio!

Parilio was a magnificent hotel, we almost felt like we were staying at a Spa hotel. The rooms are very spacious and the grounds are kept immaculately. It was really nice getting a drink at the pool before leaving for Naoussa while we waited for our transportation. One thing I would advise is to use the app iMove or find a private driver in Paros as the transfers booked by the hotel are more expensive. Parilio is not far from Kolympethres Beach as well as dowtown Naoussa. Naoussa is a beautiful town and Safran and Stivli are must go to restaurants.

5 star service in a beautiful location! A quick walk to Kolympethres beach, and near the town of Naoussa. The service at this small boutique hotel is 5 Star. We were greeted by name each day and small issues were handled quickly. The pool is beautiful and the cocktails were unusual and delicious! Breakfast is included and each item we ordered was really fantastic! Our favorite amenity was the little treat left in our room each afternoon! Always a small glass of a different wine and a sweet or savory small bite. It was a delight to have this waiting in our room after a day of sightseeing and beach-going! We had dinner at the hotel restaurant twice as well and the food was delicious! If I ever get back to Paros, I am staying here!
