I have been to Veli six times and every time love it more and more! Amazing place if you are looking for peace and quiet because apart of sunbathing and some water sports there is not much more to do. Bring some shells with you to scatter on the beach, hermit craps desperate need them as there is a real shortage of shells for them to choose from, read about it before you go ;)
Anantara Velli exceeded our expectations. After a long journey from the UK we arrived tired and were underwhelmed as we disembarked the speed boat in arrival. How wrong we were!! The Anantara resort is beautiful. Peaceful, tranquil, crystal clear warm water, sand & resort are spotless ( never gets hot ) fish swimming, the beautiful images you see are the reality here. We had a De Luxe water bungalow, which was spacious and extremely comfortable with a large bathroom and terrace. Wonderful touches from the house keeper welcoming us good morning Etc made us feel special. The food is excellent, superior to what I expected, The Italian, Seafood restaurant & Thai all had wonderful views, great service and greets food. The staff here are excellent, friendly, efficient and warm. I loved that you could get a boat which ran constantly between Dighu & Veli as it provided variety. I understand from the staff that Velli is closing for a revamp & I look forward to returning as I can only imagine it will be even more heavenly. I have travelled to many wonderful places but The Maldives, and this resort is the most wonderful beach resort of all.…
Close to Male. Helpful and kind staff. Beautiful surroundings and astonishing landscapes. Professional and excellent service. The wifi worked perfectly well all over the resort. Varied cuisine. An experience to be repeated.
Veil couples only island is closed for a year from 1 March 2022 for a refurb. I’m not sure if that affects the restaurants on the island as well which you would be using potentially if you stayed on the family or private island. The restaurants on Veli are Oragami (not included on the fully inclusive), 73 Degrees, and the bar for lunch. With all that above taken into account, the stay was fantastic. Whatever you do, make sure you go fully inclusive, as the prices are crazy otherwise. Myself and my wife worked out based on their prices we could easily have spent $500 a day on food and drink.
The cleanliness, the amenities, the activities, excursions- all unbeatable. The staff are so kind and efficient with communication. The food is of the best quality and the drinks are delicious!! The view from any room is incredible and surprisingly you cannot hear anything outside of your bungalow!! The snorkel availability is so nice and makes snorkeling so convenient.
An absolutely fabulous location for our Honeymoon, truly a drop of paradise. Our host Hidhaa was amazing, our room boy Adam was fabulous and treated us to various wonderful decorations on our bed and in the bathroom to celebrate our wedding. The host at 73 Degrees, Faz was there to greet us every day and we had many jokes about the fact that I was literally 2 feet taller than her. Snorkelling in the lagoon is just stunning and with the added bonus of an in house marine biologist we had all the Indian ocean flora and fauna at our disposal. Fabulous food at all the restaurants, with a special shout out to the fabulous SeaSalt.
I loved my stay the staff has alway been helpful ... special thanks to simah and staff for making it special for our anniversary.the location is excellent, never got bored as alot of activities to do also, enjoyed a variety of cuisines.
We had fantastic time during our 9 night stay at a deluxe overwater villa in the Veli adults only resort. The villa is very comfortable, spacious, huge bathroom with ocean view, big terrace on two levels with the sofa, table and chairs, and another big sun bed on the level below. The choice of restaurants is great, food quality is superb, particularly liked the à la carte breakfast dining at 73 degrees restaurant. The Japanese restaurant Origami offers a great teppanyaki experience, and the Thai Baan Huraa has a massive choice, we dined there several times. The staff everywhere is very polite, customer focused, nice and welcoming. The experience is diverse as there are four islands located next to each other, and the guests can use the restaurants on the Dhigu island. We could also snorkel at the small Gulhifushi island near by. The resort provides free small boat transfers between the islands, and it adds to a great experience. Overall, a wonderful resort to experience all that Maldives offers.…
Expensive hotel, you pay for the views/area and not the hotel. The best part are the staff and not the management who take notes but do noting about your complaints /problems.Had food issues where it took 3/4 hour to arrive and then it was cold.Had cockroaches in our villa.Food quality was very good, facilities are average.Rooms and walkways over the water villas need updating.Overall nice hotel but not value for money, nice experience.
Amazing staff, thank you Hidha the nost attentive concierge, Riznee, the room boy with a big smile and the cleanest rooms and all the other staff on the islands. A beautiful resort, three islands with complimentary two minute boat service. Great welcome and departure for guests. Wonderful!
