Situated in tiny village seemingly in middle of nowhere but actually very near to coast and many interesting places to visit in Cantabria and Picos. We had just 1 night on motorbike tour but can see would be lovely base for longer stay. All rooms different but all spacious and ours certainly had stunning and memorable view. 3-course dinner offered... More

A small hotel, run by friendly people. IT's comfortable, though the upper floors could do with some TLC. Our room had fantastic views of the mountain ranges opposite. We ate every night outside on the terrace, watching the sunsets. The set dinner is very good value at Eur14.50 (same as the wine) with a choice for each course. The pool... More

The owner welcomed us and nothing was too much throughout our stay. We booked based on the high rating, but soon realised on arrival that this is very popular with walkers and their pets, who regularly return. The hotel environment and smell reflected this. It would not be our choice to return, but plenty of visitors loved it. The animal... More

We stayed at Aire de Ruesga on our first night in Spain after arriving at Santander and before starting our drive to the south coast. We cannot fault it. The meal was excellent, our room was clean and perfectly functional for an overnight stay, the views are breathtaking, the air is clean and fresh, the owner is a total delight... More

I didn't want to write a review about Ruesga before in case too many people found out about it, but it's obviously no longer a secret. We've visited a number of times now and each stay has been perfect. You really couldn't wish for a more perfect rural hideaway, nestled in the mountains and green valleys of Cantabria, yet within... Really nice and helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are large and quite comfortable but double beds are small and bathrooms so dated with poor lighting. The evening meals were really good but the earliest start at 9pm was rather late. The pool has great views and is refreshing in the late afternoon. The rooms really need some paintwork and... More

A lovely hotel right up the side of a mountain which spoils you with the amazing views of the north facing mountains opposite and only 10 minutes from the town of Ramales de Victoria if you need stuff. It's ideally placed for the the sea and city of Bilbao as well as the mountains too. Couldn't believe our balcony view... More

We stayed here during 2 nights in July. The people running the place are extremely kind and go out of their way to help you and advice you where to go hiking, what places to visit, etc. Dinner in the evening offers a great price/quality ( only 14,50 Euro ) however do not order a bottle of wine as the... We spent a very pleasant week at Posada AIre de Ruesga. The setting is so peaceful, the views incredible, and the location is perfect for exploring the area. Normally, the only sounds you hear are cow bells, frogs and the breeze. However, during our second night, the town (a few houses, really) had its annual fair, which, in Spain, involves... More

“Easy to miss the entrance on arrival in Mentera village, the sign on the Posada wall is faded wood and we could not read it from the road. The hotel is downhill and below the level of the village street. Easiest way to locate it is that it is next door to a church with a prominent belfry.”
