Friendly, family run hotel in very central location. Higher floors have excellent views out over the city.

Room was spacious, shower excellent, decent WiFi and aircon. Breakfast was good too and overlooked a lovely garden area. Expresso available for small extra fee.

It is a decent hotel, well situated between a main square and the promenade along the Vjosa River. Enjoyed the enclosed shower, keeping water where it should be. My room had a small balcony for cooler evening and morning air. The morning breakfast was good. There is a large outside sitting area which I only used for a lemonade.

The center is not much but the hotel is right in the middle. The owners are very present, helpful, welcoming and the breakfast is good. The room not very big but adequate and the air conditioning is doing well. We have been there two nights and had a pleasant stay.

Good hotel in Permët. Located just a short walk from the river. And very convenient in the mid of town, close to restaurants and cafés. Staff was friendly, bed was comfy and breakfast buffet was good too. Loved all the different homemade jam varieties.

My family and I were there for a weekend in late November. The place was nite and clean, price very good. It had some small but very important problems. Breakfast was included in the price of the room but both days that we stayed at, it was never ready when we went to the caffé for it. The staff never knew how many people were in the hotel and for how many to cook breakfast which was not offering big choices. There is not a restaurant in this hotel. The rest is good, the view from the river was amazing.

One night stay in clean hotel. Views from the room looked over the river and the mountains. For a spring visit, the room was warmed by the ac but the bathroom was cold. Usual Albanian hotel style leaking shower tray resulted in a cold pool in the middle of the bathroom floor. The Wi-Fi was not working in my room although Alvero do advertise it is available. Weak signal available in breakfast room but not really feasible to use a laptop there. Restaurant was closed I think because it is out of season. Breakfast was basic but OK. As goof as it gets in Permet since my colleagues have tried all that is available.

I was born and spent the first few years of my life in this town, but I now live in the United States.
I was back in my hometown last summer; My wife and I decided to have our wedding here the traditional way. About 30 friends joined us from all over the globe and we all stayed at Hotel Alvero for those days. I just can't say enough about the great time we had and how pleased we all were with our stay there. Few points:

1) The hotel owners and staff are extremely friendly. The owners speak English which was extremely helpful for communicating with everyone (my international friends don't speak Albanian). They even arranged transportation for some of them who were in need for after the wedding travels.

2) The room we stayed at had a small window towards the city center and a big window facing down the river. The room was pleasantly cool during the hot days and the view from the big window was beautiful. Our bed was also very comfortable and we woke up refreshed every morning.

3) The place is *very* clean, despite being extra busy at the height of tourism season.

4) We had breakfast every morning at the hotel's cafe and patio. The food quality was excellent - super fresh local ingredients served every morning and the patio was perfect for hanging out with everyone in the morning sipping our coffee and sharing our stories of the previous days.

5) The hotel has a nice and spacious backyard with trees providing plenty of shade. This space was great for after-siesta relaxation time and hanging out together in the evenings.

6) Last but not least, the hotel is right in the town center, which was a huge advantage because everything is right there. In the afternoons, the town is so live and everyone goes for a stroll (locals call it xhiro - jeero) around that area. It feels so welcoming and it's something that I miss the most from my hometown.

Hotel Alvero in Permeti stayed in one of two huge suites, the bed sheet was in a beautiful fan design but had to make my own bed and mid way through the night needed a cover which I eventually found in one of many cupboards
Bathroom has glass door so lets in too much light and thin bright red curtains. Lovely view over the river but the best view is actually from the bathroom
Main power went off at 0900 so no A/C or hairdryer which meant I had to ask for it to be put back on
Plastic slippers (flip flops) were provided but I question the hygiene of continued use by many guests
The hotel is run by a couple who, despite other reviews do not speak very good English.
The food here was not very good either for evening ,meal or for breakfast. The salad had been left around for a while and the tomatoes had soaked up all the opil and gone soggy, the pork was dry and had ben reheated and the ‘baked potatoes’ were swimming in oil. Breakfast choice was very limited, there is no hot choice, no fruit, strong bitter coffee, bread that had been cut into small pieces, no pastries but a small biscuit in a cellophane wrap. The local jams were however excellent, especially the walnut one and the fig one.
