It is a decent hotel, well situated between a main square and the promenade along the Vjosa River. Enjoyed the enclosed shower, keeping water where it should be. My room had a small balcony for cooler evening and morning air. The morning breakfast was good. There is a large outside sitting area which I only used for a lemonade.

The owners were welcoming, friendly, professional; passionate about their town and region. She gave me a taste of the local speciality "gliko", a sweet slow food preserve of fruit (or veg) in syrup. Walnut gliko is the most famous. I bought plum, the fruit tender and juicy, the syrup fragrant; delicious on porridge :) I spoke to him in French; his charming Midi accent surprising in Albania. My room was well-appointed, with a spacious bathroom, overlooking the delightful shady terrace, colourful with flowers. Drinking çaj mali (mountain tea) by the River Vjosa was a perfect introduction to Përmet.

During our first visit to Albania, my wife and I, went through Permeti and chose Hotel Alvero. We arrived quite late and the owners of the hotel (see annexed picture) met us and spent a long time to tell us everithing from - where we can go and still have a nice meal, to through where and how to continue our trip. They were so nice! finally we chose the an upgraded room which they offerd us. It was very confortable and were sad to leave them. For sure we'll return there on our next trip! Thank you Vasillaq!

Being a tourist guide is a responsibility to choose the right places where to eat and sleep is well. Each year I visit Permet, I love it more and more, especially with the new transformation of the town.Hotel Alvero for sure makes the difference in Permet, not just the location that is best one with a great view over the river and city centre, but the breakfast for sure is a very healthy one with full of varieties from local products like slow Permet. Don't forget to try the glikos and raki! Hospitality always is very welcome not just at the hotel but all around town.

We came to Permet to do a rafting with Albanian Rafting group and we stayed at Hotel Alvero. The family's son Demitri was a very servical host and helped us with all our necessities. If we return to Permet we will try to stay again at hotel Alvero. Highly recommended.

Hotel Alvero in Permeti stayed in one of two huge suites, the bed sheet was in a beautiful fan design but had to make my own bed and mid way through the night needed a cover which I eventually found in one of many cupboards Bathroom has glass door so lets in too much light and thin bright red curtains. Lovely view over the river but the best view is actually from the bathroom Main power went off at 0900 so no A/C or hairdryer which meant I had to ask for it to be put back on Plastic slippers (flip flops) were provided but I question the hygiene of continued use by many guests The hotel is run by a couple who, despite other reviews do not speak very good English. The food here was not very good either for evening ,meal or for breakfast. The salad had been left around for a while and the tomatoes had soaked up all the opil and gone soggy, the pork was dry and had ben reheated and the ‘baked potatoes’ were swimming in oil. Breakfast choice was very limited, there is no hot choice, no fruit, strong bitter coffee, bread that had been cut into small pieces, no pastries but a small biscuit in a cellophane wrap. The local jams were however excellent, especially the walnut one and the fig one.

This is a lovely modern hotel. We had a great view of the square and the mountains from our room. We had 3 comfy single beds with plenty of extra bedding if you want it. The bathroom was very spacious and had a nice big shower cubical and plenty of hot water. You have nice views as you go up and down in the lift. The breakfast was quite basic but ok. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here.

Large bright rooms in modern style make this hotel a worthy choice. Close to all the sights in Permet, being right on the main square, I highly recomnend it. The breakfast buffet was excellent as well, which always helps.

Yes, a hotel run by the very friendly Alvaro family, speaking English and French, indeed a hotel I liked very much. It is in the very Centre of town, a host of restaurants at hand. The hotels offers a fine breakfast and has a bar. Super clean, we felt completely safe and relaxed. And super WiFi.
