I think the location really put me off here, in a rather ugly area. They were actually rather helpful, though English is pretty limited. The showers were good and the wifi usually worked. They didn't seem to clean the rooms, and my notes mention something negative about the sheets-- sadly I can't remember what. The breakfast was fair.

I was looking very much forward to a real hotel room after covering the Pamir Hwy in Tajikistan and staying in homestays without running water (shower, toilet) for several days. The hotel is nice but eerily empty; I was one of only two guests. The lights in the hallways are kept off--perhaps to save money. The rooms are comfortable and the WiFi works great. The bathrooms were too dark. The breakfast is OK, not the best. The most interesting part was when someone come in with a fruit plate and just opened the door with the master key. No knocking, just entered. I was shocked--and only half-dressed. The boy spoke some English and said he was sorry and that he thought I had gone out. Given the emptiness of the hotel, I supposed that is plausible. The non-English speaking manager apologized to me in Russian the next day and offered me a bottle of Georgian wine for the error. This was an extremely nice but unnecessary gesture. Overall, it's a nice place to stay for a night or two but you probably won't want to spend your entire holiday here. There's one boy who speaks limited English so brush up on your Russian!
