NUMBER OF ROOMS
This hotel seems to be an Intourist hotel from the soviet era, so expect a well-worn look and uneven service. That said the hotel is OK in a 3 star fashion (with pretensions to be 4 star). Location is good, rooms basic. Breakfast was good enough. Lots of tour groups and local folks stay here. Best to have modest expectations of the place - it is not an international standard 4 star hotel. We found the staff helpful, but the working language is Russian, which can be a limitation for English speaking guests.
It is a terrible place. Worn down facilities, questionable cleaning, terrible service and hardly anyone spoke a single word of English. One could not charge anything to the room. The restaurant on the first floor, within the hotel building, could not transfer the bill to the hotel room. The staff was not at all friendly, except for the two girls in the reception and this young chap in the restaurant (Zalkar?). The guy watching the door to the pool was even hostile. If Osh Nuru wants to be a hotel for tourists, in particular being the gateway to Pamir mountains trips, they have to step up their act and know how to execute customer service.
This is a left over from the previous era. It is not expensive and is perfectly serviceable and is reasonably well located. The staff were charming. We ended up staying an extra night so it cant be that bad. They are currently seem to be refurbing the hotel on a room by room basis. The breakfast is a bit dingy but this was OK
Stayed here as part of a group tour. We were only there for one night, but it was a night I’ll never forget. First room: had ants nest in and about 200-300 of them were moving all over bed (mainly where the pillows were). Second room (after the receptionist initially didn’t believe me about room one): 10 - 20 ants in bathroom, but we were that tired we accepted it as the bed was free of them. Also, the restaurant wasn’t open when we arrived, the rooms were not automatically cleaned every day (some every three days) and there was a full size fridge taking up much needed space in the room itself. Do not stay here if you have the choice.
After spending more than one week in mountains and yurtas, arriving to this hotel felt like being really pampered!!! Breakfast was fine - hot water for tea and coffee, good offer of local pastries and some vegetables and fruits too. Room was clean, both wifi and AC worked with no problems. Locality is great - this hotel is located in a tiny street, yet in centre. Everything you might wish to see in Osh (and two best restaurants) is in a short walking distance. The laundry service was really perfect - we brought ten kilos of laundry at 8 am, and at 11 everything was washed and brought to our room! The only week point was the hotel pool - I was looking forward to swimming and relaxing there, but this was not possible, because the pool is accessible to public, and therefore full of screaming children all day long :-(…
