Note re-naming, as above. Otherwise everything is the same - the willing and helpful service, the comfortable rooms, cleanliness, hot water (so important in chilly Chachapoyas), the breakfast, convenient location. A winner - look no further.

I stayed in this welcoming hotel twice: at the end of September and then at the end of October 2016. I was charmed both times and, on making my second booking, a request to stay in the same room was met with pleasure. The hotel staff are polite and friendly and go of of their way to help with courteous...

Situated at 2 blocks from the plaza de Arma, this hotel has all to please: full of charm (colonial style); helpful staff, good breakfast, etc.We had a triple room and found it very comfortable and clean, with hot water.

We stayed 3 nights with a 2 night side trip to Gocta Lodge followed by another 4 nights. We throughly enjoyed Casa Vieja and Chachapoyas. Nice rooms in historic mansion, great staff and great location.

This is the third hostel I've stayed at in Chachapoyas and by far the best. It's in a lovely historic home one block from the plaza and is quiet and friendly. The beds have down comforters and there are plenty of nice details such as thick towels and on-demand hot water. The breakfast is delicious, but unfortunately is only available...

It's a bit pricey for regional standards but a night at the Casa Vieja might just be worth it. The hotel is a beautifully restored old Chachapoya mansion with the typical inner courtyard. The rooms are small but nice. Breakfast is included.

We stayed at the Hotel Casa Vieja in Chachapoyas for 3 nights in early April ($54). The hotel, an old 2 story mansion, is located on a quiet street 1 block off of the Plaza de Armas. You enter into the lobby then through to a large open courtyard. Rooms line the sides of the courtyard, with the mansion's former...

Friendly staff, great beds, good breakfast and just a couple of blocks from the Plaza de Armas. It is in a beautiful old building. It isn't the quietest place, given that the rooms are all around a central courtyard, so if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs.

I loved this place immediately! Great location, super friendly staff and beautiful, lovingly restored building! Best sleep I had in all of Peru. I just felt so at home here. Highly recommend this place!

I really liked this hotel. The room was probably the best I had in Peru ( mainly travelling round north Peru). The hotel has a great lounge with log fire, breakfast was good and freshly cooked and the staff were also great. Highly recommend!

Dating back to the late 1800's, Casa Vieja is a hotel that offers all the conveniences a traveler could want while still preserving its historical charm.
