A very nice hotel right on the shore with views of the sea. Rooms are not fancy and they're a little small, but they're clean. We were there in January 2017 during an unusual very cold period, and our room heater couldn't really get the room warm. Breakfast was pretty good, not great, and hotel service is good and friendly....

Hotel la Scaletta is a clean, cost effective hotel near the sea in Ostia. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were small, but the bed was comfortable. For the price and the close proximity of the hotel to the sea, small was an acceptable concession. The breakfast offered many options.

Other than getting there and I used Uber, this is a sweet hotel looking at the beach and in the midst of restaurants and gelaterias. Also McDonalds is on the first floor if you are homesick. Watch the sunset from your bedroom. Reasonable shuttle to airport. Good base for longer Rome visit too. Clean comfortable room.

The last day of our trip to Europe we wanted to stay close to the ruins located near the Rome airport. We found this hotel that is just 10 minutes away from Ostia Antica. This small and quaint family run hotel is located just across the street from the beach that is littered with beach cabanas and is obviously a...

We stayed here one night before flying home. The hotel has great service. They arranged for a driver to transfer us from the Roma Termini train station to the hotel and from the hotel to the airport. We had the same driver for both and he was very nice and friendly. The room was a bit small; but, was large...

Yes, takes a while to get out here from Rome, but it's near the airport. We stayed here for our last night before our late-morning flight. We took the train out there then walked 10 minutes to the hotel. Loved the area. Not touristy. Right across the street from the ocean, faces it. After a whole week of yummy gelato,...

We recently ended up staying in La Scaletta following the breakdown of our campervan in Rome. The insurance company found us the hotel and we were absolutely delighted. On arrival we were extremely tired as we had to cycle from the train station in Ostia Antica. We had no spare clothes or toiletries and in fact were feeling pretty despondent....

My wife and I stayed in la Scaletta and we can only praise this little pretty hotel located right in the centre of things! We stayed in room 210 from the 26th to the 31st August and we had a small but big enough balcony to have dinner at night and relax and enjoy the sea views and witness the...

Don't let the fact it is next to McDonalds deter you. We spent 4 nights there 3 at the beginning of our trip to Italy and 1 at the end. We flew in/out of Leonardo Da Vinci and decided to go a bit further afield for a place to stay. A 20 minute drive from the airport, Ostia is the...
