This is our third trip to Finland this time we opted for the Tundra resort. We had the Saana cabin for the 2 of us (it sleeps up to 8 in 4 cabins). So 4 bedrooms one upstairs had a balcony. 2 bathrooms 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. A large kitchen fully stocked with fridge dishwasher microwave pots pans etc. Large seating area with TV and speaker for music. Log burner with log huts scattered around the site for re stocking. Thete is also a sauna in the back of the shower room. Outside seating area with snow shovel. The cabins are very nice and felt warm and toasty. The restaurant/reception is smallish and served us buffet style food, they do offer an a la carte menus for extra charge. Nearby there is a shop which sells everything, a cafe and a pub. We would definitely return here. (See you next year) My only suggestion would be to try to reduce the lighting around the resort and have the cabins so you can switch off the outside lights (I like to have as dark a sky as possible to see the stars) .

We reserved accommodation in Kilpisjärvi quite late so we got something called jurtta. It was amazing and cute big round tent. View to Saana and Tsaihkal river. Normal bed and two chairs and table. Even a little toilet. Roof is ”window” too and one cannot close it. Since sun does not set during summer some might consider lightness disturbing but we liked it. It must be amazing in winter if the are aurora borealis. Service was nice and friendly. Restaurant served really good food. Showers etc were clean in the camping area. Cottages were also nice looking. Three minor things we suggested them in Tundrea. Little fridge and electric kettle (to boil water) could be useful. Also free showers / tokens to showers would be nice. Jurtta was not that cheap and still we needed pay for showers (2 euros/4 minutes). But anyway: this place is worth of visiting.

We drove from Espoo to Kilpisjärvi and stayed in Tundrea resort for 3 nights. The place is located at the foot of Halti and next to the lake, it’s very scenic and peaceful. Staff is very friendly and informative. Being a small village there is only one K market and a gas station. There was power cut for 3 hours at night during our stay. That was a bit scary part but when I called the reception number around 1 am someone actually spoke to me explaining not to worry. Even though the situation was not solved but I appreciate the effort. And, the restaurant serves amazing food. We loved the reindeer platter recommended by the waiter. It was worth the stay and will definitely recommend others. We had a great time!
