When you are looking for a luxury getaway it's always a bit nerve-racking. No need to be nervous here. The owners, John & Sylvia, who run the place come from the luxury hotel market, and they have re created this hotel to the highest standards. The finest linens, crockery, decor and designs make you feel spoilt, and the grounds, views...

Thanks Patrick for such a glowing review. Very pleased you enjoyed your stay. We are a very small team here here and its a real boost to get such great feedback. The Tweed Valley is beautiful and full of history, we are certainly privileged to call this place and our unique manor house 'home'. Also pleased you appreciated the efforts...

This is a remarkable place: well run, beautifully maintained with every detail attended to by a family that knows inn-keeping inside out. The rooms are immaculate, quiet and immensely comfortable. The food is prepared with expertise and care, using fine ingredients and not a small amount of cleverness. (I stayed at Windlestraw for three nights and each night I ate...

Thank you for your lovely comments. Its always encouraging for us to hear such positive feedback. The Borders, and in particular the Tweed Valley, are often overlooked by many travellers and we are delighted to hear you appreciated the landscape we have come to love. Very pleased that you enjoyed your Windlestraw experience, we try hard to make every aspect...

Thank you, its very kind of you to compare us with the best"! We are only a short way through this new journey with a very small team and we are hoping to get even better with every step. Stu our new chef is doing wonders with the cuisine and of course Sylvia is world class with every other aspect....

Thanks Helen for your lovely comments. The Tweed Valley is not far from 'Auld Reekie' but its still a wee bit of a secret and as its only our second season not many know of Windlestraw. We are delighted you found us and enjoyed the experience we are creating here. I have to give credit to Stu Waterston our locally...

This was our second visit to Windlestraw but the first visit with new owners Sylvia and John. Well we were not disappointed and our trip to this beautiful b&b was once again fantastic. There were a few changes to the house which really did compliment our visit with one of the main ones being a brand new bathroom in our...

Windlestraw is simply a delightful place to stay. It's stylish and beautifully appointed: our very comfortable bedroom with its show home bathroom and view of the River Tweed complemented the equally comfortable and spacious public rooms. The situation of the house is lovely too and it's made clear that you're welcome to explore its extensive grounds. The dining is wonderful,...

We stayed for three nights and hated to leave. The dinners were amazing both in taste and presentation. Since there are only 6 rooms, it is quiet and very relaxing. There was a warm welcome on a wet and windy day with a tray of tea and some gentle conversation about the hotel, our room and the evening's dinner. Being friendly in a low key way is an art which flourishes here so that even the most timid guest would feel able to ask about anything. The room was luxurious...

As we like to say here, ''To-days rain is tomorrows whiskey'' and there is nothing more pleasing than inviting a guest in from the inclement weather and making them feel ' at home' .
