A lovely relaxed stay, fantastic location, friendly helpful staff. will stay again. the whole Dengie peninsular is so worth the visit, forget TOWIE this is old Essex at its best, plenty of eateries and pubs to keep you replete and at good prices too. I was expecting dull marshland but was so wrong, footpaths and lovely architecture to explore, you might like me be very surprised at just how much there is to see in this quiet corner of eastern England. a doggy paradise is to be found here as they seem to be welcome everywhere. The historic olde white harte hotel is on the quayside and we had a fantastic view of the estuary from our room and look forward to returning to explore further.

I contacted Victoria a few weeks ago and asked if she could accomodate 18 people for lunch all wanting different meals and not wanting to order until the day. No problem was the response. We actually visited on a glouriously sunny day on half term week and the place was already very busy and staff clearly rushed off their feet. Someone early suggested the staff needed diversity training, no the customer needed more patience or go to a quick fry joint. Within a reasonable period of time all our drinks and meals appeared. These are genuine comments from our group 'That was the best piece of sea bass I have had for years' 'The skate was very fresh, delicious and huge' 'I really enjoyed the special' 18 very happy customers left that day and several intend revisiting on their own. So thank you very much Victoria and all your staff for making our day special

We arrived and offered a table outside with menus in hand , we waited for 30mins ,by which time other customers that arrived after us received service for food and drinks , I approached the bar ,complained why the delay , delay was due staff shortage ? , 15 mins later we got service , food arrived without the drinks , if fact we received our drinks received we finalised the bill at the bar … There maybe a lack of training in diversity at this public house because it was clear we where continually ignored. I certainly will not be recommending this public house to anyone.

We visited this pub/hotel on the spur of the moment. Just felt we needed to comment on the lovely food ((seafood platter for 2) and service. In these really difficult times, all the waitresses we kind, friendly and accommodating and couldn’t have made our visit more pleasant plus the food/drink was of a high standard and good value. Well done to all for running such a lovely place.

This was our first meal after lockdown. I can’t praise it enough. Everything was perfect. The meal was outstanding, my taste buds didn’t know what had hit them, I had the sea bass and a recommend it. You will not be disappointed, compliments to the Chef. Service was brilliant, everyone there super friendly. It’s my favourite place to go in Burnham and I’ve missed it. I had the best time, thank you.
