We were pleasantly suprised at how much we loved this place. We wanted to do the golden circle in two days rather than one to give us time to take our time and not rush. We decided this hostel was a good location and it was about half way round and was close to Selfoss and Geysir. When we arrived there were no other guests there. The host arrived and showed us around and then left us to it. The place was lovely and peaceful and we had the whole place to ourselves. The dining area and kitchen were huge and well stocked and the bedrooms were clean and spacious. The price was really reasonable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Located very strategic near a lot of interesting sights, this hostel delivers! Spacious rooms with two double bunk beds, bathroom and toilet in the hallway, and a large kitchen/eating area. Free wifi with good signal. One of the best hostels I have seen!

Lovely guesthouse ideally situated between Geysir and Gullfoss. It has a huge living room and well-equipped kitchen. The bathrooms are shared but clean. The views of the surrounding farmyard were amazing at both sunset and sunrise. The hosts are very friendly and helpful also. Would definitely return!

This guesthouse has everything what you need, kitchen area, huge living room and the rooms are very good. The guesthouse is located exactly between two main attractions: Geyser and Gulfoss. The beds are comfortable and clean. Shares toilets and showers but everything is clean! Amazing place to stay and a lovely host. That everything for a reasonable price.

My wife and I and our two older kids stayed here one night in late July. The location is great. Close to both Gullfoss and Geyser. Our rooms were small but comfortable. There were a couple of large groups while we were there, but it didn't really cause any problems, other than some extra noise. All-in-all we were quite happy with Gljásteinn Skálinn Hostel.

We loved every bit of our stay at this place. The house is warm and cozy. The kitchen is very small though but functional. The view from the window is breathtaking especially when you see the horses running across the field. The sheep dog, Lassi is so friendly and so are the horses. Kids will love this place.

Located in a scenic spot, with wonderful views from the dining area windows. Access to Gullfoss and Geysir is very convenient. Hostel facilities were very clean. It was fun being on a working farm with Icelandic ponies grazing in the nearby fields. Internet was adequate but not high speed. Noise was not an issue for us, but walls are thin so it could become an issue if the hostel is crowded.
