Stayed in a log cabin in deep snow-all paths cleared and gritted to go over to the restaurant! So cosy with underfloor heating and a shower room with ‘vintage’ plumbing. Such a lovely and unique place; sitting in the cafe looking through the window to the barn where the cows are munching away contentedly while smiling at you too. The homemade food products were delicious and the ice cream and yoghurt divine!
This is a great overnight near Geysir. Of our stops in Iceland this was my favourite. Rooms are neat, tidy and clean. The food is excellent, definitely recommend having breakfast and being adventurous with the food, lots of things to try. Take care with the hot water in the bathroom, it is HOT.
Loved it! The rooms were great and the food was great. The room has a rustic interior and was nice and spacious. Bed was very comfy. The room was a little warm so we just opened the window a crack to sleep. We learned the floor is heated so don’t put a bag with chocolate on the floor (whoops!). The bathroom was spacious and there was a coffee/tea maker in the room. We ate both dinner and breakfast here and both were excellent. I loved that it showcased the cows and the farm. The staff were all very friendly and helpful recommending local places to eat and visit. Highly recommend!
Traveled with my 2 teenagers and we had a room with private bathroom. The room is best described as a charming log cabin with all the amenities expected. We had a comfortable sleep. The next morning we had a nice breakfast at restaurant located on the upper level of the main holding. The breakfast spread was good and the restaurant overlook the small cow farm. Photographs and posters lined the walls which detailed the rich history of Efstidalur farm.
We stopped here after visiting several waterfalls. The food was delicious and fresh. Several of our party rode horses while a few stayed back and caught up on computer work. It was a true Icelandic farm experience
