Ariau has hosted several highly important people from presidents to royalty to diplomats. The experience is amazing and truly unique. The hotel is in fact a bit old but I was able to stay in a new room which was incredibly comfortable. The staff is exceptional. The best thing of the hotel. As soon as I checked in (while in... Unfortunately the rather rundown state of the hotel gives an unfavorable impression of what can be an amazing and unique experience. I went as part of a group from a cruise ship and we were mostly in the retired age group who found some of the walkways slippery. I certainly would be anxious about taking children as the elevated walkways... More

My first time in that hotel was 6 years ago - jan'2010. It was amazing to arrive there and see free monkeys among humans. The hotel is confortable and offers an fantastic experience like: swimming with river dolphins, fishing piranhas, finding alligators at night, visiting indian tribe...etc..in my opinion, everybody need to visit amazon to feel its real importance for... We were lucky to spend a few nights at the Ariau Amazon Towers Hotel, including New Years' Eve. We had an amazing time! Before we went, we had read some reviews which prepared us for a rustic and somewhat decadent hotel. However, the place is still amazing and fantastic! First advice, try to book a Tarzan House. Ours was very... More

My boyfriend as I went to the Ariau Amazon Towers and had a great time! We had read lots of reviews so we had prepared for rustic conditions and were not expecting a 5-star-hotel experience, which I think helped us to enjoy what we did get. Firstly, this place is HUGE tons of walking paths, multiple towers, awesome surrounding land.... More

I visited Ariau Towers a few weeks ago as part of a large group of students traveling together on an organized tour (so I didn't know anything about the place before we arrived there). Our visit was short -- only one night -- and we went on tours the day before and after. I believe the sentiment from most of... More

My family and I stayed at Ariau several years ago when the second largest flooding occurred in the history of the amazon (just our luck right!?) Anyways, it was a major bummer because we couldn't experience the walkways and we had to get around on little temporary wooden stilts. The rooms are absolutely the worst part of this hotel- I... The setting and the tours are fantastic, the extra swimming with Botos is a must. All this is good enough to put you in a good mood so that you consider the hotel to be Rustic and Quaint rather than Decrepted and Shabby. They where trying very hard (and noisily) to keep up the maintenance but looked like a losing... More

I had read about this lodge years ago and was fascinated with it. I could not wait to walk all the walkways and look for wildlife. I booked my stay directly with the lodge and was told they were "good days." I really was not prepared to find the entire property flooded and all the walkways under water. Apparently the... More

Some towers have been renovated, and common areas such as the dining room are adequate. Located on the Ariau River, a tributary of the Rio Negro near Manaus, the hotel (towers) offers small boat rides to local villages, where you can see families processing rubber and cassava root, and you can fish for piranha, swim with pink dolphins, walk many...
