We were lucky to spend a few nights at the Ariau Amazon Towers Hotel, including New Years' Eve. We had an amazing time! Before we went, we had read some reviews which prepared us for a rustic and somewhat decadent hotel. However, the place is still amazing and fantastic! First advice, try to book a Tarzan House. Ours was very... More

My boyfriend as I went to the Ariau Amazon Towers and had a great time! We had read lots of reviews so we had prepared for rustic conditions and were not expecting a 5-star-hotel experience, which I think helped us to enjoy what we did get. Firstly, this place is HUGE tons of walking paths, multiple towers, awesome surrounding land.... More

I visited Ariau Towers a few weeks ago as part of a large group of students traveling together on an organized tour (so I didn't know anything about the place before we arrived there). Our visit was short -- only one night -- and we went on tours the day before and after. I believe the sentiment from most of... More

My family and I stayed at Ariau several years ago when the second largest flooding occurred in the history of the amazon (just our luck right!?) Anyways, it was a major bummer because we couldn't experience the walkways and we had to get around on little temporary wooden stilts. The rooms are absolutely the worst part of this hotel- I... The setting and the tours are fantastic, the extra swimming with Botos is a must. All this is good enough to put you in a good mood so that you consider the hotel to be Rustic and Quaint rather than Decrepted and Shabby. They where trying very hard (and noisily) to keep up the maintenance but looked like a losing... More

I had read about this lodge years ago and was fascinated with it. I could not wait to walk all the walkways and look for wildlife. I booked my stay directly with the lodge and was told they were "good days." I really was not prepared to find the entire property flooded and all the walkways under water. Apparently the... More

Some towers have been renovated, and common areas such as the dining room are adequate. Located on the Ariau River, a tributary of the Rio Negro near Manaus, the hotel (towers) offers small boat rides to local villages, where you can see families processing rubber and cassava root, and you can fish for piranha, swim with pink dolphins, walk many... The hotel like ALL the hotels in Manaus is desperately in need of renovation. But please, don't let my words turn you off. First, if you can afford, stay in a Tarzan Suite, there are 7 of them. The one I stayed was "Caras". On my pathway, there were only 3 and mine was the last one, with our own... More

Spending a week in the Amazon at Ariau Towers is one of the best experiences of my life. The activities were so much fun and really a once in a life time kind of experience. The bar was also pretty great - delicious cocktails!! Saying all that, don't expect to be staying in a 5 star resort. It is run... More

Photo-shop and decades old pictures, can do wonders for hotels past their prime. The sad part, had they been honest and up front, chances are I still would have visited, but been much less disappointed upon arrival. You can tell at one time, this was an incredible place to stay. A majority of the staff tried to claim storms and... More

Thank you for your time in writing a review. All of our sale's offices advise clients that the hotel has been through numerous floods over the past few years due to deforestation up river and climate change. Every year from May - August there is a natural rise in water due to the melting of the snows in the Andes... More
