I stayed here for one night in early January 2017 with about 10 other people as we were passing through. I had a single room on the rooftop. The room is separate from the access to the stairs and had no heat and no attached bathroom. The bathrooms were shared bathrooms that you walk outside to get to. The sink...

We stopped here for lunch and bought some of locally grown saffron spice (Safran in Arabic) for 35 Dirhams per gram. The lunch was delicious including harira, tagine and kebabs. Our young sons aged 7 and 9 particularly liked the exotic birds in an aviary just down some steps from the terrace - peacocks, turkeys, ducks and all sorts. The...

Had to stay there for one night on our tour to Atlas mountains. Rooms were not clean, stains on the floor, toilet and shower were dirty. As we complained about it the owner admitted that due to full booking of the hotel there was no time to clean our rooms. Although staff was friendly they didn't apologize for providing us...

I have stayed here a few times on separate occasions and will always choose to stay at Auberge le Safran whenever I go to Taliouine. Mahfoud is an excellent host with superb knowledge of the region. He went above and beyond in helping me with my photography project about saffron farming in Taliouine which I really appreciated. One of the...

If you are in the South of Morocco, you have to travel to Taliouine (ideally through Tizi n'Test) for the breathtaking mountainous landscapes and to learn about saffron, the local speciality! And if you are in Taliouine, then... you HAVE to stay at Mahfoud's Auberge Le Safran! Mahfoud's knowledge is unique, and he'll give you explanation in English of French....

The average rating I'm giving is based on the room and bathroom with no hot water in the morning. Lovely colors in the room, pretty tiles in the shower room but I'm not even sure we had guest towels or soap. This review is about week two into a month's travel, so I'm comparing it with all the places we...

I stayed at "Auberge Safran" when I was in Talioune on a business trip dec 2015 and it was a good choice as the staff (Khaled and the owner Ahmed) were doing all they can to satisfy customers,The service was good, the breakfast was great, I will be back again one day.

Exploring the High Atlas by car, the N10 stretch of the route is rather boring & industrialised, so we were extremely lucky & happy to find this auberge. It's a bit like the tardis!!, looks a bit plain from the outside, but inside it's an absolute treasure. The owner, Mafout is a beautiful person, refected in his amazing garden, wonderful...

Amazing discovery, we found this hotel after being very disappointed with another accommodation booked in Taliouine. The staff is so friendly, very helpful, the hotel itself has large rooms, decorate in a nice, happy, colorful way. The breakfast could use some improvements, but for a tiny city like Taliouine it was a very nice stay.

If you can, keep driving to next town and look for a better place... The rooms are very basic. Noise from the busy road. Basic food. Old towels. Poor wifi. The staff are helpful. Place suitable maybe to backpackers.
