Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort and Spa is often lauded for its vibrant atmosphere, thanks to a plethora of musical events and themed parties. Although the staff is friendly, some guests have experienced slow service and room-related problems. The resort's amenities, including its beaches and pools, are generally appreciated, but noise disturbances can detract from the peacefulness. While the location's private beaches are praised, its remoteness has been noted as inconvenient by some. Lastly, the value proposition of the resort is a point of contention, with numerous guests feeling that it doesn't live up to the cost.

Hotel's Favorite
We travelled from Birmingham UK in a group of 11 which consisted of 2 families with kids ranging from 13 to 22. This is an honest & comprehensive review & will hopefully ease any worries that some people have about this resort. Check in - It is slow, there is nothing you can do to speed it up but sit, drink get the wifi code. We had booked the Grand Palladium Jamaican side but when we got there due to the renovations taking place, we were put in the lady Hamilton side - there was no issues with any renovations & we wouldn't have even know they were taking place. Rooms - Lovely & big - King size bed & sofa bed - both really comfortable beds, rooms clean & good air conditioning. Mini bar was stocked regularly & maid service was great, although due to the volume of rooms they have to clean, sometimes the rooms were only getting cleaned when we were coming back from the pool at around 4pm. Plenty of toiletries everyday & no need to take shampoo, conditioner, shower gel or moisturiser! Some of the drawers did smell a bit musky & not enough hangers but it was nothing major. Pool / Beach - Pool had a few filer issues but this was mainly down to inconsiderate holidaymakers getting in covered in sand, but the staff stayed on top of it & its upkeep. Beach is a bit course but there was no seaweed & sea was lovely. We went snorkelling at the far end beach which was amazing, with lots of marine life to see around the coral reef. Bars in & around the pool had quite slow service as the majority of the time there was only 1 member of staff serving. Daytime entertainment - Great! Kept both kids & adults occupied all day. Power - the main man was outstanding & the place was not the same on his days off. Always full of energy, encouraging people to join in the activities of which there were plenty going on. Volleyball, water polo, dance classes etc etc - really good program led by the Power man! Restaurants / Food - Miss Lou's Bar, started the day off with amazing coffee & pastries from 7am. Again lovely staff in there, but the stand out service was from Marvin - he was a coffee master with the nicest personality. Always greeting us by name remembering our order & delivering it all with a smile - top bloke. Breakfast - extensive choice & service stations making fresh eggs, waffles, crepes etc - great coffee served & plenty of choice for everyone. Buffet was ok but we didn't go that much as lunch & dinner was very similar so we opted for the A La Carte's most nights. Japanese - Sumptuori - Outstanding food both at the teppanyaki (RobLee) & the normal set menu - The best waiter on the resort was most definitely Taj who served us on our last night. Steakhouse - El Dorado - Best Fillet Mignon I've tasted in a long time - we went there about 4 times. Others ordered different things from the menu too & were not disappointed - service was quite slow in here though. Mexican, Italian & Indian all visited too - good food but service again slow on the whole, but some really nice dishes that always arrived hot. Overall really pleased with the quality of food - Booking was a bit hit & miss as you can book on the app but it doesn't get fed through to the restaurants, so all we used to do was go down at 7pm, have a word with the restaurant we wanted to visit & say we had booked for 7:30 & then when we went back at 7:30, they had a table ready for us. Guest relations can help book the teppanyaki & others but make sure you get a paper booking confirmation. Evening Entertainment - Saved the best till last - Milton, what a man!! Every night there are activities led by a great group of entertainers. The shows are good & we saw some of them, but we opted to sit in the Infinity Bar mainly where everyone came at 10pm. Great nights of karaoke, 70's & 80's nights, beach parties & dancing into the early hours. Milton, VIP, Batman & Prince always made us feel really comfortable & were brilliant! Milton even managed to get my daughter who prefers to sit & watch, to sing at the Karaoke & even dance. We have been to a lot of places & can say hand on heart say that the entertainment here, was the best we have experienced. Milton & his mates were a massive part of our holiday & made it what it was - amazing! Then we had the friendliest of security guards patrolling the infinity bar - we called him Secci but he too was so welcoming & friendly, at the same time as keeping any rowdy groups under control. Overall we have had a brilliant time & met the most amazing people (other than a very rude assistant manager from the travel club who I believe was called Jermaine). We would definitely go back & our only concern is that it wouldn't be as good 2nd time round! Thanks to everyone for making our holiday to Jamacia the best yet.

Novia is the best bellhop!! She made an extra effort to be early to pick us up on our departure day. She was prompt, courteous and cheerful. She should definitely be given a raise, lol. To end our stay, she was the best!! If you want the best driver, ask for her

A very large beautiful resort. Has 2 amazing beaches. The adult only area is away from the rest of the resort so was very peaceful. The buffets offered a large selection with a good mix of different foods every meal. The service inside the restaurants was incredible. The sports bar has a nice set up, offered good to order but that was a little slow. The ice cream was amazing as were the nachos unfortunately or there than that there wasn’t a lot of late snacks. No Jamaican Pattie’s. It was very easy to book the a le carte restaurants and of the 3 we went to the Steak house, Italian Cusine and Japanese restaurant they were all amazing. There are 2 jerk huts 1 at the beach and one by the main pool and that was definitely a high light, just make sure your there by 1:30-2:00 or you may miss out. The pool is huge with lots of space if you wanted your own area. The kid pool area was a high light for my kids (11,9). The resort offers a kids club from 9-5 and my kids could not wait to go each time they went. The we participants in 4 of the kids night show performances and how they taught the kids to perform a 30min show in 1hr is truly amazing. All of the live shows at the amphitheater were fantastic. The after party show at the infinity lounge every night followed by a DJ were also a good time. All the bar staff were extremely polite and provided amazing service. Never gave my kids a hard time for ordering a million smoothies. Can not wait to go back.

We traveled with WestJet Vacations for the first time from Edmonton to Montego Bay. 4 adults and 1 toddler. We had a small layover in Calgary. The flight was okay. It’s annoying WestJet can’t fly direct from Edmonton. Sunwing does… Everything started off fine until WestJet said they just decided wagons aren’t allowed to be gate checked. We spent $250 on a stroller wagon that was lighter and more compact than our stroller and we got hassled in Edmonton and Calgary about it because they just got an email saying no more wagons. Our flight was good. However I strongly believe airlines should have a no perfume, cologne, or strong scent rule. A lady drenched in perfume sat near us and I felt sick our whole flight. We got to Jamaica and it was a gongshow at the airport. Holy moly! Disorganized!!! The absolute worst part was waiting for the shuttle bus to the hotels. We stood outside for 20 min just to be told we have to check in inside. Everyone else we talked to was upset about this, as many people wasted time due to this communication. There was no clear signage. No WestJet rep to assist. Lots of Sunwing reps who were rude if you were not a Sunwing customer (which I have been many times… and aren’t they the same company now!?). The last thing we want to do after a day of traveling is stand and wait for hours for a bus. Nexus Tours should be ashamed of themselves and WestJet should be embarrassed they use this tour company for their customers. They probably had 20+ people standing around doing nothing, when they could be organizing people and communicating the check in process. Then we got to the hotel and we unloaded the bus and it turns out we were at the wrong lobby. No one said anything until we were in the lobby with our bags. So we had to go back out and reload the bus for another quick ride in the death bus. Warning- The drive to the resort is interesting and you may want to hang on tight! The hotel made me feel everything better! The rooms were amazing! The first meal we had was good! The service was great the first night! Very welcoming! Firstly… CONS: -Jamaica, like the rest of the Caribbean, is windy and rainy at times. Every time I come here I always think I should have gone to the west side of Mexico where the weather is more consistently hot and not so windy… we did have a decent week, but it could have been better. The first 3 days were so windy and the last 3 were perfect! -The Al La Carte restaurants book up fast and you can only book 3 days in advance. Reservations open at 9:00am each day, so set your alarm and book them on the app! -The elevators in the building are old and sometimes don’t work. For such a nice resort that was disappointing. They did get it fixed while I was there. There are only 2 small elevators on each end of the hotels so it’s not as accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. They should renovate and put one in the middle. -Bring your own snacks! The snack bar is limited (one small bag of chips and some peanuts). The general store is pricy! $8 USD for a big bag of Doritos! Rip off! Bring your own beach toys too! They are also pricy at the stores and they don’t have the cheap sales huts at this resort. -The services were okay. Some of the service was superb, other times it was terrible due to poor attitudes or long waits. The bar on north end of the pool by the kids pool had the absolute worst service! They were all miserable! -The service is slow. If you make a request it can take awhile to get things done… -The hotel is beautiful, but it is aged a bit. It’s not major, but a few spots could use some paint or an upgrade. -They ask you to review the hotel during mealtimes… very annoying. Maybe ask on the way out or when people are checking out of the hotel and need something to do while they wait to go to the airport. -If you stay near the main part of the hotel beware they pump the music until late. Especially on weekends! If you have little kids that need quiet, bring earplugs or white noise! I found it really annoying! PROS: -The beach! This resort has the best beach I’ve ever seen at an all inclusive resort! It’s clear, light blue, calm, and so warm! Bar service offered on the beach too! There is another beach about a 5 min wall called Sunset Cove; it’s even nicer! There is a bar and a restaurant there too. -Easy and friendly check-in and check-out! -Great Wi-Fi around the whole resort! Loved that! -The food was decent everywhere! More good reviews below… -The bed was so comfy! -Our room was always cleaned well and everything worked great (I wish they provided more snacks though; the ones they left were so good!) -The pool is huge; we enjoyed it! We didn’t have to fight for beach chairs. -Everything is close together… pool, towel hut, bathrooms, bar, food… so you don’t have to walk too far to get to where you need to be (unless your room is farther away). -They have shuttles around the resort as it is quite large and spaced out. -The night entertainment was really good. It wasn’t cheesy as I’ve seen at other resorts. FOOD: -The sports lounge is decent! A nice break from the buffets. They need butter for their popcorn LOL! -The breakfast buffets were good! We loved the omelets! -The Italian Al La Carte was just okay. -The Mexican Al La Carte was great, but the seating is weird. The booths are too high. -The Steak Al La Carte was good, but the portions are very small. -The Jamaican Al La Carte was just okay. We didn’t have great service. -The Japanese Al La Carte was really good! -The Seafood Al La Carte was very good! -I wish there was more snack options around the beach besides the jerk hut. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton. We may return, but I’d probably choose to try another resort during my next trip to Jamaica! However, we may never return to Jamaica because the experience going through the airport going home was almost worse than when we arrived! Talk about a gongshow again!!! Several Jamaicans I encountered work at slug pace it seems and total disorganization! The airport barely had air conditioning. That was fun… not! The security line-ups were huge! They made my husband run around security to get our stroller wagon through a metal detector. No communication whatsoever! Everyone was so rude too! Then I grabbed a Quizno’s sandwich to go in the airplane… it was disgusting. It didn’t have tomatoes cheese or sauce like I ordered. And everywhere in the airport is over priced. $14 USD for a bag of chips. $60 USD for 4 crappy sandwiches at Quiznos. $30 USD for 4 ice cream cones and a cheeseburger at DQ. Ridiculous!!! This airport experience alone makes me never want to return to Jamaica.

The grand palladium was an amazing vacation. The beach was one of the nicest I've ever seen and the activities were also amazing. One of my favorite things to enjoy was breakfast at the lagoon when a musician would play things like guitar, saxophone or violen. My wife and I also enjoy the water sports activities alot, we went snorkeling, kayaking and just lounged at the beach. We loved also just lounging in the beach. The only negative things were the excursion which were confusing and not well explained. The dolphin excursion and the luminous lagoon are the only to I'd use my time with if I could do it again other than that STAY ON THE RESORT. It was also kinda gross finding trash in so many bushes at the hotel rooms. They clearly were not checked. I don't blame the people staying at the resort though, there are 2 trash cans in the whole thing which doesn't make it easy to not accidently liter. Other than that amazing stay and I would recommend it.

The property is beautiful but the service is very slow. Be prepared for "Island time". If you go to the Japanese steakhouse, and want to sit at a hibachi table, make sure your reservation is for that. Also, be prepared for a LONG evening- it took 2.5 hours to have dinner at a non-hibachi table. That said, the Indian restaurant was great both in terms of service and food quality.

We had a wonderful time. Most of the people went above and beyond while some others weren't so friendly. (Just like any other resort) The rooms were clean but, did have a musty smell. We just kept our door open and the smell did go away. I was really impressed with all the ground keepers. They do an amazing job! Well done guys. Make sure if you need a ride within the grounds, ask for Roane. He's super friendly! Kudos. Try out the El Dorado. It was the beat meal we had here. And the lobster was awesome.
