I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this place yet! We stayed for one night while driving from northern Wales to Bath. We were literally just looking for somewhere to eat and get a couple of drinks and some sleep before we set out for Bath the next morning. If you’re looking for swank accommodations with fluffy towels...

Called in for a drink and evening meal whilst staying at nearby Black Hall Lodges. So glad we did. This is what you hope for in a local pub. Welcoming atmosphere and staff. Then there's the food. Excellent is the only way to describe it. The steak and ale pie is a must and great value for money. We learnt...

If you're looking for a good honest boozer that serves home cooked food (as everyone says, the steak pie is great) you'll go far and wide to find better. We traveled as 3 blokes on a motorbike trip to Wales and stopped the night here before our trip to the mountains, Very friendly staff and owners and instead of an...

Three of us arrived by train - a lovely line and a request stop at Knucklas! - and shown our rooms. They were clean, comfortable and just waht we wanted. There isn't much to see in this tiny village, but we visited the motte and bailey castle and admired the beautifully tended gardens. The bar was lively, and we later...

We arrived after a long days walking to be met by Chris. She allowed us to check in early ( normal time is after 18.00 ) . The pub and food are outstanding but the rooms are just adequate. They are clean and warm but I was a little surprised to find the bathrooms carpeted. They could well start to...
