Hosts are charming and have a wealth of knowledge about the flora and fauna of the area. The transformation of their property from cattle farm to native forest is impressive. Loes is an excellent chef, and Kees a great tour guide. Very impressed with the snorkelling at Caletas island, the Mangrove bird tour and hike in Cera Hoya Nature park....

Spent 6 nights with Kees and Loes at the Heliconia. Really enjoyed our stay and their hospitality. The grounds are a nature persons bonanza. The flora and fauna are excellent. Great cultural experience. Did the Cerra Hoya and the Mangrove tours with Kees who is an excellent birder and naturalist. Enjoyed the morning and evening chats with the hosts and...

Book this trip Now! The hotel is a wonder. Great food, a pool, hikes, bats, hummingbirds that visit you over morning cups of organic coffee. Our hosts were wonderful people. The rooms were REALLY nice. the nicest in Panama by far. A true eco resort, built and managed sustainably. THEN we went to Coiba Island. There is probably no better...

Hello Ben E, We are very happy you enjoyed our hotel and the trip to Coiba. Among ourselves we now refer to the island where you asked your wife to marry you, as 'Proposal Rock'. Coiba is indeed very quiet outside the high season, but from mid December to Mid March it can be busy at one or two places....

Great Service, family like in a modest but clean facilities. Great place to start and finish birding tours. Kees is the best guide in the region, he always find the birds. I will return for sure in the near future.

The Couple Kees and Loes are perfect hostages and their service is great. They have a beautifull B&B were nature comes first. The hummingbirds are amazing plus the home vulture Victor. The B&B is remote, but is an excellent way to go to the beautifull island of Coiba. Cees and Loes organize beautifull trips to this gem. Cees was our...

Spent three nights and was very pleased. Rooms are modern and the grounds are immaculate. The food is first rate and the staff very accommodating to odd hours. There are many trails on the grounds for nature exploration.

We traveled to Heliconia with our kids ages 9 and 7 for winter break. The B&B was booked our first night in Malena so Heliconia offered to help book us at the clean and friendly (Spanish only) Hostal Iguana about a mile further down the road and across the road from a lovely local beach and locals-run turtle hatching area....

Hello Suza210, Thank you for writing a review. Rest assured that Lincoln's shirt is in safe hands and will be there when you return (is it the blue or the white one? Or both??). Tuna fishing is good at the moment, so we have fresh steaks! Best regards,

Perfect place to admire nature and birds. Dinner and breakfast are fantastic, and owners very friendly, they will give you any advice you may require. The place is calm, perfectly equipped and well located for going to the beach.

My wife and I spent an all too brief stay at the Heliconia and can't wait to get back. We made a last minute booking with the Heliconia when our hotel in Mariato ran out of water.
