We stayed at the Veranda for 3 nights and our experience has been one of the most beautiful ever. We are pure vegetarian with allergies to certain diet. The resort duty managers made sure to provide us with vegetarian food as well as plates of mangoes even though it isn't a proper season of mangoes. At night also. On request room service was available. Peaceful place. Great location. Amazing people. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Quite and nice view. The Higher Room has wonderful infinite pool by the side and has a very perfect angle of a white pagoda nearby. However the resort is a little bit far from the city, and the shuttle bus is less than expected.

We stayed at the Veranda High Resort, Chiangmai for 2 nights. The resort is in the rural Hangdong area away from the hustle and bustle of Chiangmai. The resort overlooks the beautiful hilltop temple (Wat Phra That Si Meuang Pong). The resort’s property is a sprawling, hilly terrain surrounded by verdant mountains. The buildings are pleasing modern architecture with a touch of brutalist aesthetic using raw concrete, glass, and wood. The dinner restaurants are 2-3 houses on stilts repurposed from old traditional Lanna rice silos. Our stay was in mid-January, and even with the comfortable ambient temperatures, the water in the pool was simply too chilly, and we got out fairly soon after we got in. The areas outside of guest rooms were vast and beautiful. Plants and trees were abundant, but perhaps because it was Chiangmai’s dry season with little rainfall, some of the shrubbery looked a little brown and dry. Gardening staff worked hard to clear fallen leaves and keep the landscape tidy. Some concerns for guests with mobility issues: although electric golf carts transport them to their rooms, it might take effort to enjoy the resort due to the shifting elevations and frequent stairs. Some public areas were not well lit at night, and some lawn areas paved with repurposed wood from railroads were wildly uneven. Our Premium Room with 2 Twin Bed (“Valley Deluxe Scenery”) was spacious and comfortable, filled with natural light, with a great view. Like many reviews, the interior could use some touchups on the bruised finishes (the blistered veneer on the furniture, scuffs and dents on the walls). The retractable walls of the bathroom to open it up to the main bedroom, but why would you the moisture from the shower or bath or noises when using the bathroom? There were no towel rails and only two hooks in the bathroom to hang towels, so we guessed other guests have draped their damp towel and wet swimsuits to dry on bathroom furniture, hence the water-damaged surfaces. The interior designer did not put enough pragmatic thoughts into how guests would spend their time in the room. Why spoil a beautiful hotel room with clothes draped on furniture and scattered belongings? The mattress was on the firm side, and the pillows and linens were materials you’d expect from 2- or 3-star facilities, not a 5-star luxury hotel. For daily breakfast, a buffet was offered in a stunning hilltop restaurant overlooking infinity pools. Food was abundant and delicious, with enough variety in both Asian and western choices. Dinners at the resort’s restaurant were good. We would rate the restaurant a B+. Prices were on the high side, but not exorbitant. We had “high tea” one afternoon, and they let the four of us share a set for 2 people (with additional drink orders). The tasty sandwiches, macarons, cakes, and pastries were enough for 4 for a light afternoon snack. CONCLUSIONS The Veranda High Resort Chiangmai is an architectural gem in a beautiful, tranquil area outside of Chiangmai. The resort was visually stunning. There were some inconsistencies in our experience with the pool and the not-so-sensible guestroom, but overall, the stay was satisfying and pleasant. A bonus was the walk through the nearby village to reach the mountaintop pagoda that is different from other Buddhist temples anywhere else in Thailand.

Staff were very friendly, rooms spacious and clean. Food was great and views from the top pool were spectacular. The resort was tired and needed maintenance, but think a few places in Thailand are still recovering from covid / lock down so didn’t let that affect our stay.

This resort is truly a resort with its size! The staffs are really nice, and the view from the room was impeccable! Also there are so many facilities and activities to offer, you can just stay at the hotel. The facilities are amazing and good to take pictures with the background of mountains. I am looking forward to coming back! Was staying at pool suite and it was amazing. Unfortunately there were quite some mosquitoes but it is unavoidable. Appreciate that there is shuttle service to City!

This hotel may have am over lying brand of M Gallery (whis isn't so fab anyway) but doesn't live up to even one Accor/M Gallery standard, so why associate, I'm assuming a franchise, and a BAD one. Dirty average rooms, average service at best. Rooms are simply no better than any cheap hotel in Chiang Mai Thus hotel is obviously run bu some average non professional team, definitely not Accor No standards No consistency No sense The food, and its almost ( in my opinion) impossible to get BAD food in Thailand, well this hotel has made this VERY possible. The restaurants and bars close at 10 pm ....in a resort, cam you imagine? When they are open the food is DISGRACEFUL .delivered in plastic glad wrap and devoid on any taste, style, thought...it was just 'bad fod dumped in the room (room service) and SO EXPENSIVE,,,compare tp the competition What the heck is this tragic average hotel all about There must be No GM or senior management as not a single management person visible anywhere. They missed the wrong group to ignore as we are 10 people paying good rates, suites and some potential business clients and we are here for a week of birthday celebration They did send today a happy birthday amenity to the birthday guest 3 dayes early which was astonishly bad. Seems like a 'oh we have to do this' sonerine , rather doing a gesture that might give a positive impact and not be a 'must do' Seriously, what a DISASTER of a hotel..nut the question is WHY??? MAy recommendation and knowing Thailand and Chiang Mai (and other areas) so well...DONT GO. FIND SOMEWHERE BETTER THERE AR SO MANY) Tragic, totally lack of value Dirty rooms Not nicenpiblic areas No safety/guidance lighting at night Disgraceful food and beverage quality, service and attitude or care and bad value Seems to me...who cares about Accor Standards let's just use the name to get th business but don't deliver Come on world, come on customers/guests it really is so easy for a hotel like this to make money or More by having some standards, and even have less cost by following and evven saving money too. Summary...Tragic, can't watch to try breakfast.. stay tuned aaagĝhh

Sorry Price-Performance does not fit. Not fulfilling expectation for a 5 Star Hotel.. But first of all the TOPS: - Lovely, super friendly staff from reservation desk to waiter and room service - Huge New Years buffett & show - Extensive & spacious hotel area, originally well build up, very green & nature centred - Enough space on the whole area e.g. to let kids run - Offboarding of guests who are not happy was well, very open for feedback and paid Taxi to Follow- up Hotel Unfortunately the FLOPS: - Not reaching international 5 Star Status: Room smells moldy, not sufficient cleaned, chalk allover bathroom, water (/mold?) stains on the wall, air condition quite loud and makes more warm than cold, furnishings/ doors worn out - Door did not proper close, no warning signal - Breakfast like a 3 Star Hotel, additional orders were not clear, service was not proper - Nearly 300€ for a double room… price-performance as said… - How did it get a TripAdvisor price a year ago? The different evaluations really confused me… I feel very sorry for the people who work there, actually it looks like someone is really taking out money of the place without maintaining it.

This resort is quite unique and unusual. A short ride up the mountain road brings you to a completely different world, away from Chaing Mai's hustle and bustle. An amazing oasis, fresh air, peace and quiet, amazing views... The Staff is absolutely superb, from the front gate guys to the friendly check-in crew to the great restaurant staff. Ms Jib Panthiwa is likely the best hostess we've encountered in a long time, knowledgeable, hospitable, caring and friendly - thank you agin! The resort's crown jewel is the pool - once you see it, you will agree this is the pool unlike any other hotel pool you may have seen. Rooms are excellent, great wifi and AC - feel free to book the second floor, Deluxe Scenery - amazing view. Feel like splurging - get the downstairs accomodations with a private pool. Two restaurants offer great food, with acceptable pricing, considering this a mountain resort. They do offer shuttles to Chiang Mai and back, honestly - what's the point? The idea is to get away from the city and enjoy this exceptional hidden oasis!

Got upgrade to a 78 square meters Pavillion, so our holiday started with the great smile already. Whilst the dinner’s food taste still has room to make it better, our dining experience went ultra enjoyable by a superb service from Khun Tae. Also Khun Fern’s guest experience skills do make our stay a memorable holiday.

Thank you for making our honeymoon so special! Veranda Resort was, without a doubt, one of the best, if not the best, hotels we have stayed in so far. We don’t usually write such long reviews, but the Veranda staff definitely deserves a detailed one! If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind, escape the craziness of the busy city, be surrounded by nature and calmness but still have a good connection to the city, be provided with excellent hospitality, and not be bored—this is the place for you! We stayed for seven nights at the beginning of November and used most of the facilities that the resort offered: pool, jacuzzi, gym, spa, restaurant, bar, transport, and extra activities. Location: The resort is located a 30-minute drive from the city center, but the staff offers a complimentary shuttle bus service at set times to the city and back to the hotel, so the connection is not an issue and is free. It made our travels and sightseeing much easier and more convenient. The hotel is situated in the mountains, so the whole place is very quiet and peaceful. No outside noise, no crowds, only the pleasant sound of crickets and frogs at night and birds during the day. As huge nature lovers, we enjoyed the wilderness at Veranda a lot; we found geckos especially entertaining! The view of the White Temple and the palm trees from the Higher room was just incredible. The sunsets were unreal. The resort itself is not very busy, and even the main pool was empty most of the time, which was great! The whole place is so green and lush; it just helps your mind to relax. Everything from the pool to the trees, grass, and plants was so well maintained and perfectly clean. Staff: A huge, huge thank you to every single staff member—you all greeted us with a smile and kindness, and nothing was problematic for you when we asked. Helpful reception staff, including night staff, were always keen to book us taxis, give us recommendations, have a chat and joke with us. Housekeeping was always present, and the room was always perfectly clean - we found the everyday good night sweets left in our room when we went out to the city to be a nice little touch! The restaurant and breakfast staff were so attentive and kept their eye on every detail! Gentlemen in charge of transport - also the ones on the ground in a golf cart were so helpful. Big, big thanks to Jackie who gave us a white temple tour, for her knowledge and enthusiasm. And special staff members—cats that kept us company in the evenings—made the hotel feel like home and entertained us while setting a friendly environment. Facilities: The room was spacious, quiet, and clean; it had everything you needed—good AC, drinkable water, coffee, tea topped up every day, and a big straw bag that you can use to take your stuff to the pool. We loved the little private patio outside our window where we could sit at night and listen to the frogs. The breakfast buffet was delicious—so many choices in addition to freshly cooked eggs upon request. The staff was always happy to cut fresh fruit for us, which was amazing. Dinners and cocktails were so tasty; we liked that a lot of products were locally sourced. We loved the tree house seats in the restaurant. The spa offered a wide range of choices in terms of massages done by certified therapists, and we were very happy with ours. The spa was clean, intimate, and very relaxing. Pool and gym—all well maintained and clean. There were options to book free activities like temple walking, rice planting, yoga, Thai boxing class, or bike rides, which took place in the local village—all organized by staff for guests. Design: So impressed with the designs! We felt like we were in the Vogue catalogue! Modern, minimalist concrete blocks composed perfectly with the greenery around them. It was so well designed that it felt like buildings and pools were an addition to the greenery, not a way around! We will remember our Veranda stay for a long time, and we will definitely return if we ever are in beautiful Chiang Mai again! ขอบคุณ, Alex&Matt
