I sent an email (as shown on their website) a couple of weeks before booking but received no reply. I had to phone them to confirm they had reopened. Booked online for 3 nights. Google Maps shows it is walkable from the pier or take one of the many tuk tuks waiting. Bring your DEET spray. The lady Manager has limited English but her husband understands better. But they are both very helpful as best they can. The bungalows are set around a well tree shaded courtyard. The room is large, modern and clean. Typical firm Thai mattress, clean bedding, quiet, efficient aircon but the TV has no dedicated English speaking channels. There is a short rail with some hangers but they really need to provide a shelving unit for storage given the bungalow price. The bathroom is a decent size with the shower and toilet segregated. Water heater worked well with good pressure.I had no soap but was given the next day when I asked. Room cleaning is upon request but I was asked on my second day. I was only staying 3 nights and as I'm not a messy person I did not require it. Overall, I had a comfortable stay. Footnote: Don't believe what you read on their website eg tuk tuk to the pier is now 60 baht. Why have a website if you can't maintain it with up to date information/respond to emails.…
The room itself was excellent: very clean, safe, quiet, and affordable. Staff were a bit hard to find sometimes (such as when checking in, I had to wait about 15 minutes). Staff also never returned any of my emails I sent before arriving. But from what I observed on the island, it seems that Charlie's would be among the best options on the island.
Want to wake up in a sweet bungalow in a beautiful, green garden? Then choose Charlie´s Bungalow! We did and everything was just super. The family that runs it is very friendly and extremely helpful and sweet. You feel welcome, as a real guest. Everything is very clean and works well, the bungalow is cleaned everyday, you can sit outside your house and relax. It is close to restaurants and stores, but quiet. You also can rent a scooter for a good price and drive around the island or to the beach or take a tuk-tuk. Airconditioner works very well, there is a flat tv and coffee in the room, a fridge as well. I´d go back there if I visit Koh si chang again, which is a good place to go to.
Stayed here for a couple of days for the fishing. Bungalow - large, clean comfortable. Owners very nice and friendly. Would I stay here again - definitely yes. The only trouble is there is no where to eat that is good, but there is a BBQ on site. The thing that made me smile was the different animals the towels were set in every day. Brilliant
We stayed overnight as a break from our cruise ship docked in Laem Chabang. It’s really easy to get a taxi to Si Racha then the ferry to Koh Sichang. The bungalows are set around a garden just off the main road. Very peaceful and private. Each bungalow is detached. Room is large, very clean & comfortable with fridge, en-suite shower & wc , balcony with chairs for sitting outside. Lots of places to eat close by. Easy to get tuktuk to beach. Doesn’t feel touristy.
