We had a nice stay in this character old hotel in the charming village of Wendover. We had problems with our rooms, the first being extremely noisy the second being small & slightly dirty. The service from the staff was adequate rather than exceptional.

Needed a place to stay urgently with family and found based on price and location the Red Lion to be perfect for our needs. Greate service and food, slightly tired bedroom but bearing in mind the price it was great value.

Comfortable friendly hotel with clean warm rooms and lovely breakfasts! Found this hotel on line when looking for accommodation when visiting friends, we were really pleased with our stay. The staff were friendly and pleasant to deal with, the rooms were clean warm and peaceful and the breakfasts were great. On site safe parking was a pleasing bonus too. All...

Stayed here after a family walk through Wendover Woods. Beautiful lil place, with everything we needed ...includ. breakfast the next morning. Although the 'family room' doesn't allow for an adult and two teenagers.

Great hotel, nice food although the veggie options were a bit limited. Our children didn't sleep very well due to poor soundproofing. Breakfast was good and staff very professional and friendly. Good for Ridgeway walkers.

Charming 17th century building, so much character. We had the Cromwell Room, where the man stayed. High ceilings and charming - just the entrance door is like 1.50m tall :-) Very comfy mattress (and am fussy about that). Located bang in the tiwn lively street, Staff really polite and friendly, Food freshly prepared on site and very tasty. The only...

We stayed here because of the hotels proximity to the ridgeway walk. The rooms are great value for money, clean and comfortable with everything you would expect. We were very impressed with the food in the restaurant. I highly recommend a stay with dinner and breakfast. The pub is busy and full of atmosphere, this suited us well but might...

Good staff, good vibes. As stated earlier, bedside light out of reach and open wiring behind basin unnerving! Mattress poor - out of kilter, as if someone's been sitting on left side so long, it now tilts badly to left. Duvet very light and small. Suggest adding top sheet, then duvet can work as eiderdown? Probably include blanket in cupboard...
