This place is in serious need of an update. The carpets didn't look like they had been vacuumed. All of the furniture looks like it has been there since the 1970's. The shower and tiling needed a good scrub with some bleach. Breakfast consisted of 5 or so packets of cereal, with milk and orange juice in a fridge in... More

Red Lion, Longwick is a very quirky pub. Each room is different, clean, comfy and welcoming. Landlord greeted us in car park and was very friendly. Evening meals served in the restaurant were varied and good value. Stayed two nights with friends and ate there twice. Missed a full breakfast, but cereal and orange juice in the bedroom was acceptable.... More

If you want a cheap room for a night or two then the Red Lion is ideal but don't expect anything smart. Our bathroom had new looking flooring but four old bathmats on it, presumably because the shower cubicle is flimsy and leaks!( The wardrobe was in the bathroom too.!!) Breakfast is in-room, with milk and orange juice provided in... More

I needed a room as I was doing site inspections at a couple of locations around Reading in the day and then Aylesbury on the same night. I searched LateRooms.com and booking.com and found this nicely prices room for one person to include a continental breakfast. The Red Lion is located conveniently in a local village and had a lovely... More

I was stay here only for 2days with my office boss Kelvin. We're coming here to find out some mobile companies to enhance our business. Clean room and beautiful staff. Also we are enjoyed with their lunch and dinner system!!

Pretentious keyboard warriors move on! Stayed 3 nights on business here. Are the rooms dated? Yes. Are they comfortable, clean and good value? Yes. Do they provide fresh milk, orange juice and affordable quality? Yes. Jerry is very friendly and downstairs the food and drink is very good. Perfect if you need a place to rest your head

Stayed here a lot when I was working away and I must say I cannot fault the place. Ok its not quite the same as a premier inn when it comes to the rooms etc but if you need a room for the night, an evening meal and friendly atmosphere then you can't go wrong with this place. Gerrod is... More

Ok so the decor is dated and the whole place could be fresher but for the price it is fine. Everything was provided in the double room, coffee, tea, biscuits and a bottle of water, refreshed both days. Plenty of towels and the bed is clean and not 'out of the 70's' in my opinion. I prefer breakfast at the... More

This place is disgusting and in desperate need of a full refurb and I don't just mean a lick of paint. The rooms upstairs stink, the door to our room had no lock on it and all the floors are covered in 1970s shagpile carpet including the bathroom!! The shower was a warm dribble and the bed was a pile... More

Been staying at the Red Lion for almost ten years at various times of the year. All I can say is that you get what you pay for, and that's not much. The rooms are clean but so in need of a refurbished, and if it wasn't for the excellent beer on tap at the bar I would probably request... More
