I had been on an early morning walk along the Thames and was looking for somewhere to get a cooked breakfast in Cookham and saw The Crown P.H. I asked if dogs were welcome and they said they were (in the bar area), I ordered their Traditional Breakfast (they swapped the black pudding for an extra sausage!) which is served... More

Hottest day of the year, birthday family lunch outside. Friendly enough staff but all seemed very young and no-one managing them. We ordered a 'Crown Burger' (OK), an 'open avocado sandwich' (a piece of bread with avocado ontop of it) which came with skinny fries (not the best), a 'goats cheese and fig salad (so a bowl of rocket, some... In answer to some of the negative comments posted felt I had to,respond. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. We stayed in room 1, had no problems, very clean, fresh towels etc everyday. We had 5 rooms and all our party were happy. We had an evening meal on the first night, only complaint was that the portions were too big.... More

We visited this pub/restaurant a couple of nights ago and ordered the whitebait to start and the homemade burgers as a main. The food was brilliant as was the service. I have never had a burger so big in my life. We will definitely visit this place again.

First, room No 1 tellingly had the blind down on the only window. Otherwise there is no privacy in the room. Everyone walking to and from the outside rooms walk past it. Most of the other outside rooms had a different type of window and curtains were open. When the window is open anyone could climb in as it is... More

Me and my 3 friends stayed at The Crown during Ascot week as we were attending ladies day. The crown was in a lovely location, a few restaurants shops etc in that area if you are planning to stay there for the day/night. The pub itself is set with a beautiful green around, loads of outside picnic benches which would... More

If you found yourself stranded in Cookham with no other option then you'd probably be resigned to staying here. Otherwise, avoid. Utilitarian at best this place is a real missed opportunity in a gem of a town. The accommodation is of the type you'd expect to be hastily organised to house desperate refugees. The pub itself is a charming facade... More

I visited The Crown with my daughter and husband as just needed a snack. We ordered the sandwiches. The salmon and prawn wasn,t available but the waitress told us that they had crayfish and lemon mayonnaise instead. They were very tasty and were served on thick cut granary bread which was a nice change from the processed thinly sliced bread... More

Me and the wife decided to go out for a Sunday lunch. Thought we would try the Crown, having never eaten there. So ordered 2 drinks - 1 large glass of wine, and a pint - £14 !!! So persevered and got menus, where Sunday Lunch roasts were prominent on the menu. We decided to have a sunday roast each,... More

Had lunch here and the burger was well done and a little dry. My wife had the steak and Ale pie which she said was good, but not great. The food took a long time to get to us and at the time they were no real busy.
