We have just returned from our 33rd stay at Brantridge Park since Xmas 2008, and had booked for Xmas 2016 but have had our reservation cancelled as Brantridge has now been sold and will close permanently on 4th of December. We will sadly miss staying there. I would compare Brantridge to a very elderly Dowager Duchess sitting in a corner,...

Not sure anybody except the unfortunate staff will care but this place is now being neglected, the staff have been decimated and the maintenance shows it The rest of the staff are on notice and I think Dec3 is the closing date Making the booking and making adjustments to the booking was simplicity itself, as was check in and check...

I have read the other reviews and yes...it is a bit tired but ... it is really beautiful - the house is lovely, the grounds are stunning and the staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed in the mews apartment with its spiral staircase and jacuzzi bath - it was very nice. The snooker room was great fun as was...

We stayed at Brantridge Park at the end of a 9-week vacation around Europe, to unwind for a few days before the long haul back to Australia. So, we wanted somewhere quiet, where 4 adults could relax, spread out and have our own space. Brantridge Park delivered on that score. The property is a grand old lady, sadly in need...

We stayed in apartment no. 4 which looked like it had been built in 1970 by a poor joiner. Bubbling paint, crumbling wall, rust...it was awful. The bathroom looked like it had come from a Bangkok bordello and the taps and shower head and tiling were a shambles. I wanted to leave the moment I stepped through the door. This...

In June 2013 we stayed at the Brantridge park home. The home was exactly what I was looking for when we planned our trip to London. I wanted to stay in an old, stately home. The apartment we stayed in was nice, it was separate from the main house. It had everything we needed, yet there was nothing special. The...

The drive to this location is superb. Narrow roads through the rolling countryside and forests; with a little imagination you can travel in a carriage with horses instead of in a 21st century car. Although there is no landlord is waiting for you, everything is neatly arranged. We arrived after 17:00 pm and our key and information about the area...

Good value for money and spacious rooms. In need of renovation as rooms were slighlty damp and musty. Old house with a lot of history but needs renovation. Lack of other facilities such as a restaurant and bar but plenty of places locally.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Found halfway between the villages of Handcross and Balcombe, in the beautiful Sussex countryside, this spectacular residence is ideally placed just 45 minutes from both Brighton and London. From the moment the car passes through the gates, winding through the lush meadows of Bluebells and Daffodils, you get that feeling that you are about to experience something special.Get out of the car, breathe the air, you are stepping into a piece of British History. The house was built in 1750 and the present Manor House in 1853. It was for many years the home of Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone and was a favourite retreat for Royalty such as Princess Beatrice, Queen Victoria, Queen Ana of Spain & Queen Sybilla of Sweden. Delightfully light and elegant, Brantridge Park sits perched in the middle of over 90 Acres of woodland and parkland.Today Brantridge Park still retains the Elegance, Character and Charm of a bygone time, but has been tastefully converted into Luxury Apartments for holiday rentals. The grounds were designed by Princess Alice and contain many specimen trees and shrubs giving colour all the year round. There are hidden trails and paths lining the Woods and Parkland around Brantridge Park, just waiting to be explored. ... more   less
