My friend and I stayed mid week overnight at one of the rooms at Amberley... The room was nice and clean but the more I looked at it, the more niggly things came to my attention..... There were scrapes all over the walls, a bulb had gone in the bathroom, there was a bit of mould on the shower screen and my robe had stains on, as did my bed linen...

...As I have mobility problems we were shown Bodiam room on the ground floor with only a couple of steps to negotiate. We had a few problems with the room, but have since discussed it with the management...

...The rooms are equally stunning, and definitely worth having a view out into the parklands or the garden. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms very modern while most of the rooms theme selves keep the old feel of the castle or the cottage... I will note for any visitors not used the the English countryside that this is an older castle so rooms in the winter will be cooler - so a suite with a fire is a treat, or have a sweater handy...

My husband and I spent a lovely couple of nights at Amberley, we stayed in one of the Gatehouse Suites it was beautiful and extremely spacious...

This hotel is our 'go to' place, for a luxurious treat. We arrived to find we had been given a wonderful upgrade, to one of my favourite rooms (over the years, we've stayed in them all)... The fire was lit in our bedroom and we settled in... Had a wonderful meal as usual, and retired to our room, lit by the romantic glow of the fire... Already booked to stay in January...something nice to anticipate during the dreary winter months...
