Six of us had lunch on a very cold day. Unbelievably there was no heating on in the place, the conservatory was freezing with one cold small radiator. The staff didn't seem to know why, fireplace was empty. Moved into inside room, also no heating. Whole place very run down and scruffy, paintwork, carpets, everything needs a good refurbish. The...

We visited The Sportsman Inn for a family event. We were Sat on a long table with a wonderful view of the Amberley wild brooks with plenty of deer and cows to keep us occupied . The pub is perfect as a base to explore the Sussex South Downs and it pours a pretty good pint of beer (Harvey's plus...

Really busy pub and deservedly so. Great views over the water meadows. Very friendly staff. We both had cajun tuna steak which came with a crisp salad and eggs (nicoise style salad but everything bigger and crisper). It was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Brilliant place!

Very disappointing supper here. Two of us had meals which weren't as described on the menu and one of us had a chicken dish which was at best, pink, and at worst, bloody… not what we expected at all… hopefully it was a one off but the standard of food has really gone down here...

Having visited this pub many time during the nice weather and although having to wait long periods for food during busy times we have always come away with a smile having thoroughly enjoyed lunch. Today with a lady running the bar and one waitress everything seemed to be stressful. Having ordered our food we sat on the outside patio enjoying...

I stayed here in a twin room for a night whilst walking the South Downs Way. It is set in a nice village with good views. The rooms are of an adequate size with comfortable beds, TV and tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom contained a walk in shower which I like. The room was clean although the bathroom was...

This will the be the first 'bad review' I've ever written on TA. I prefer only to be positive and nowhere/no one is perfect but............ Firstly, nice pub in a stunning location and the bar staff were very friendly. So don't hesitate to go here for a drink. Four of us booked for lunch (and were on time). Two of...

Stopped off on the off chance of a meal, despite it being a busy Friday night a table was found quickly. Very friendly and efficient staff, good choice of food and nicely presented. We sat in the conservatory at the back which had fine views across the fields . Also plenty of seating outside and to the front. Well worth...

We had been told about happy hour (5-7) but not about the view! This is fantastic and after our very reasonably priced drink we decided to eat there. After a very expensive and disappointing meal elsewhere the night before we were more than delighted with our fish cakes and spicy lamb which cost less than £15 each. We will go...
