Amanjiwo (peaceful soul) overlooks Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist sanctuary, in the rural heartland of Central Java. Located in one of the most scenic parts of the country, the Menoreh Hills rise up behind and no less than four volcanoes grace the horizon. Amanjiwo provides the opportunity for immersion in Javanese culture, offering trips to ceremonies, temples and antique shops. Private dawn and sunset visits to Borobudur and other archeological monuments in the vicinity are the highlight of a stay.

For sure it is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. It is so beautiful as is the region in which the hotel is located. Their attention to details is impressive and the atmosphere at the hotel is superb. All the staff did their best to please us. Thank you once more,

My addiction with Aman started here at Amanjiwo Indonesia. It was a flawless stay from the private car pick up to the many meals in the open-air restaurant overlooking the majestic yet intimidating volcano in the near distance. This is sacred land that Aman has built a hotel

We visited Amanjiwo during our Winter of NOv 2017 holiday through Indonesia. We were greeted on arrival by Michele the general manager of the property and welcomed “home”. Had a relaxing welcome drink in the lobby and then orientated to the property. Our room was magnificent.

Just contact the resort direct as soon as possible. I am sure they will be able to help as they were very careful with my nut allegy.

It's a couple minutes by car, and they're happy to shuttle you over. They can also arrange the pre-dawn tour if you're willing (and it's worth it, to avoid the crowds, see some amazing lighting and avoid the heat). As for "nicer hotel" - I'd say Amanjiwo is pretty outstanding as-is.

Many thanks for reaching out to us at Amanjiwo, the town of Borobudur which is only 5 minuets drive has a number of local eateries from Padang inspired to local Javanese warungs. The city of Yogyakarta is 75 minuets away with a much larger collection of western and Asian restaurants. Do let us know if we may help any further. Amanjiwo Management

Typically in January the weather is fine and sunny early morning until around 3/4pm whereby there would normally be an afternoon shower. Everywhere is green and gorgeous!

No tvs. Even if requested I'm not sure there would be much to watch. There is Internet or probably better to download movies etc before you go.
