Highview hotel is located on the hillside in Karatu, really nice view and garden. Staff is kind and professional. The hotel overall looks good but the bathrooms would need serious renovation! Food at the restaurant is average quality (maybe below average if we compare to Europe)

This was our base for a couple of nights. Staff very good and the entertainment was awesome (local acrobatic act). Room was small enough but the views were stunning. Served its purpose, did not have time to use the pool.

For Tanzania, there are two associated plug types, types D and G. Plug type D is the plug which has three round pins in a triangular pattern and plug type G is the plug which has two flat parallel pins and a grounding pin. Tanzania operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

Are hairdriers in the rooms.? And wifi?
There was a hairdryer in the room. Wi-Fi is only in the lobby area which is a separate building from the one with the rooms. The bandwidth is only really good enough for doing emails

it was quite cold in some evenings, so bear than in mind. tropical strength jungle formula is highly recommended. on safari, black clothing/blue is not recommended. some insects can bite through cloth, so a close texture cloth (safari style) is good.
