Detailed Reviews
This was an odd situation but I was so impressed by the hospitality of the Country Lodge I wanted to be sure to give them a good review. After our car broke down inside the crater of Ngorongoro, our driver had a friend drop us off at this hotel while he fixed the car. They very generously let us spend over 3 hours in their lobby and brought us cold drinks and regularly checked on us to see if our driver had made it out. When our stay passed 9:00, the manager offered us a free dinner when he realized we hadn't yet eaten. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and I will definitely look to stay in the Country Lodge next time I am in the area! Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

We stayed here for a night after we landed in Tanzania Kilimanjaro airport before proceeding to Serengeti. This place was a good 2 hour drive from the airport. We stopped by a supermarket to buy snack before we proceeded to this hotel.
It was a nice beautiful place with a swimming pool as well. The rooms were quiet big. We got a room with twin beds. The cots had mosquito net. The room had lot of plug points to charge all your gadgets-cameras, phones, PowerBanks...
The bathroom was big as well with shower and nice fresh water.
The dinner at the restaurant was a unlimited set menu served by the table with soup, salad, main course, desserts. One of the staff who served food had this great skill to remember names. It’s not easy to pronounce names that’s not native to your country and the way this person was able to call out our names every time was just unbelievable. Kudos....
Overall a clean place to spend a night.

We stayed here on first night of safari and then again after coming back from two days in the Serengeti. This hotel was offered as an option by Money Adventures touring company and we are glad we selected it. It is a true oasis with beautiful grounds, swimming pool, fire place in the restaurant and bar area, and fireplaces in each room. On request each night the staff will make a fire for you in your room! The staff made a tremendous effort to learn guests names. We were spoiled by Leon, William, and Alex. The dinners are a fixed menu but delicious. The WiFi in the main lodge works great but there is no WiFi in the rooms which adds to the safari lodge experience. You can pay for everything by credit card but tip in cash.

The first thing that struck us was the size of the room. It was huge compared to the others we stayed in. The bed was very comfortable with a full mosquito net over it. There were two comfortable chairs and a table/desk. The food was excellent as was the lunch box we were provided with for our trip to Ngorongoro. They said breakfast was from 7 am but we, and others, had ours at 6 and could have had a packed breakfast earlier if we had wanted it. The bathroom was well appointed and lots of hot water. all the staff were so friendly, asking our names and remembering them the next day! Emanuel was a star. The main thing here was the lighting in the room. It was superb after the dimness we had encountered in other places. We could actually see to read! It was a busy lodge but the staff coped well. We would recommend it wholeheartedly.

This little oasis in the middle of Karatu does not feel like it's going to be what it is - until you actually get into the compound. Truly a beautiful facility - with dozens of mature fruit trees and flowering shrubs in a spotless compound around a lovely grass lawn and pool. An extremely calm place to relax after a safari. Facilities were clean, service was excellent, food was great - definitely a spot we can recommend.

We had a one night stay here in May on route to Serengeti National Park from Arusha. Gilbert was friendly and professional and kept checking in on us during dinner. Dinner was really good, just a lot of food, it was like a four course meal, they'd bring around the dishes and would give you the size portion you wanted and even come around asking for seconds. We had a nice stay. The cottage was roomy and the bathroom was amazing! Would recommend! Very hospitable lodge and friendly staff.

Country lodge is set in beautiful grounds and the individual lodges are comfortable and roomy and provided a very relaxing place to stay after a busy day on safari.
The main lodge housing the restaurant and lounge is also beautifully set out and the decor is lovely. All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and the food quality was amazing. I would highly recommend staying here.

Such a lovely stay with wonderful service. We stayed for 1 night on our tour from Arusha to northern Serengeti and it was great. The rooms were lovely, beds comfortable and the food was delicious - including the packed lunch the next day. Whilst the shower was a bit tricky to get right with the temperature, once it was set it worked like a dream.
The hotel facilities were also really nice, although we didn’t get to experience them properly, the grounds and pool etc are lovely and the bungalows balcony area are nice to relax on. There is also a good bar and some nice seating to sit before and after dinner.
We really enjoyed our stay here and thank the staff for making it so welcoming.

I've stayed at Country Lodge many times over the years and each time I return it's like coming home. The pool is surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The food is delicious! I love the way dinner is served family style and you can sample a little of each dish or have as much as you like. Andrew and the whole crew are amazing, and take care of our every need. I'm as comfortable at Country Lodge as I am in any luxury safari lodge, and I'll keep coming back!

Really lovely place with a lot of character. There is a pool but the weather and water were a bit too cold for our boys to use it long. There seemed to be endless food at dinner and many of the courses were tasty (the starter salad, the soup, and the lamb were good) but some were a bit bland. The servers were very good but the method of having them come around with the dishes was a bit awkward and we ended up with more food than we would otherwise have taken. We had a boxed breakfast and lunch for the next day, which were fine. They were nice enough to make coffee earlier than 6 am for us. It's a bit of a drive to the Ngorongoro Crater.

yes, we put ours out in the morning and got it back in the evening.
yes, I had no problems, just make sure you have the tanzania plug adapter. LOvely relaxing place and wonderful food
Dear Guest,
Thank you for your inquiry and sorry for our late response. I am sure both types of adapters will fit into our power extension cables.

bonjour,
