We used this Lodge as a base for our safari and we were fully satisfied. Our room was very spacious with a very comfortable king size bed, ideal for a good rest after intense days of safari. The bathroom was very large and the room has a walk-in closet of considerable size. Breakfast and dinner are served by buffet with a wide choice of excellent quality food. The Lodge is certainly recommended.

We were positively surprised by the size of the hotel. There are many nice and large rooms, a pool and basketball court. In the evening you can sit very comfortably by a campfire. You feel like you're in the jungle because it's lushly green. On each arrival, a juice and damp and warm cloth is offered. The food supply was a bit limited and you had to wait in line for a long time.

This place came up on quite a few safari packages we saw and I was worried it was in town that it wouldnt be close or special, but none of it ended being a problem and the grounds make you forget you are anywhere else.
We stayed 1 night as part of a safari on the way to the Serengeti after Tarangire and it was one of our favorites. The grounds are beautifully kept, the staff is overly welcoming, and the night time dinner there was really great for a date especially after a long day of sightseeing. For us they brought us some very good soup and there was a buffet. It wasn't busy and one of our favorite meals.
The room was pretty spacious and comfortable.
I would stay there again.

We went there in July 2024 and we had the "Spinash" room.
When we arrived we were really pleasantly surprised. It looks quite ordinary when you check in and it took a bit of time but afterwards everything was perfect.
The grounds are very pretty with lovely flower gardens. There are also several possibilities to relax after a day of safaris. There is a basketball hoop, a pool table, a beautiful swimming pool with plenty of chairs available and in the evening you can relax around a nice outdoor fire.
As for the room it is spacious and the bed is comfortable. The water pressure is good and everything was very clean. The only downside is the wifi which is not very reliable and you have to move near the restaurant if you need a better connection.
The restaurant offers a lot of choice and the quality of the food is excellent. On the other hand there are a lot of people so the line can be a bit long at the dinner buffet. The breakfast also offered a lot of choice and again it was excellent. And after breakfast there is a table near the lobby to make a lunch box for lunch. There are again several choices that will certainly please you.
Note that the drinks (beer, soft drink, bottled water) are very affordable and it was very appreciated during the hot afternoons in the sun.
I recommend this place without hesitation.

Eileen’s Trees Inn was an amazing oasis on our safari trip. We were lucky enough to stay here two nights of our trip and each night was as special. The breakfast buffet (with the omelette bar) and the dinner buffets were delicious! There was a lot of variety on each of the buffets that kept it interesting - with a range of favorites we have from home and new Tanzanian foods for us to try. The rooms were extra spacious - we had great hot water and water pressure, we were treated with lots of fresh towels, and the bed was super comfortable. We loved the grounds of the hotel as well - there were fire pits going at night for sitting around and socializing before dinner, the pool area was so clean and spacious, and lastly the volleyball court looked so fun! Our porch had very comfortable pillows and a seating area for us to hang out. We absolutely loved our stay and we cannot wait to recommend Eileen’s Trees to all of our friends and family that want to visit Tanzania in the future!

Very kind staff, good food for both breakfast and dinner, nice place to relax after all hours by jeep for the safari. As soon as you get there, they give you a patch of hot water to get the dirt off you. Clean and spacious rooms. Possibility of swimming pool and fire in the evening. Recommended

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel and it was wonderful. The rooms are super spacious, with extra beds, toiletries, and canopies so you don't get bitten by mosquitoes. The pool and restaurant were very welcoming. It is Top-rated Hotels in Karatu and great located for visiting Ngorongoro Crater.

I am often one of the first to avoid Karatu and recommend a lodge on the Ngorongoro Crater rim to get as close as one can to the epicentre of the area. So it came as a very welcome surprise to discover Eileen's Trees as an overnight stop. Situated about a km from the main tar road through Karatu in beautiful grounds one could be on another planet away from the busy Safari circuit. There are about ten or twelve cottages set around the central office building with it's 'tree top' restaurant with balcony above. The welcome was effusive and warm without being too gushing and we were shown to our cottage set a little way back. What a pleasant surprise to find such a nice place. Fully working layout with lovely room and Bathroom with modern fittings. A really comfy bed in which I had one of the best night's sleep of my trip. The grounds were bustling with birds and there was a small swimming pool for the sybarites. The restaurant was excellent and the food wholesome and tasty. There is a well stocked bar, with, unusual for the area, a comprehensive wine list. We had a tasty South African red with our evening meal. Served by the friendliest of staff. (Thank you Veronica). Breakfast next morning was excellent and freshly prepared to order. Everything from healthy cereal options to the usual eggs and bacon etc., Indeed my one regret was that we had picked a stay here for one night as a break in our long journey when we would have loved to have spent a few days here simply relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of Safari life. I hope to be back to try it.

Eileen's tree Inn is a great and clean little hotel. The rooms are large and stylishly furnished, but still have a strong regional feel. The restaurant is decorated in a typical local style and the food on offer is excellent. The chef and the service staff are super friendly and everyone is very professional and very helpful.
For the safari there are lunch boxes that you can put together yourself, which is great because you really get what you like and you can avoid food waste.
I would also like to specifically point out the shop, the items there are high quality and inexpensive, but above all it supports an organization that is committed to education and against female genital mutilation.
