We stayed as a tour operator looking for new accommodations to add at Octagon in Karatu. We had read some bad reviews beforehand, so wanted to see for ourselves. Let me start with the positives. The food was absolutely amazing! There was a big variety and everything was delicious and definitely enough (a bit too much I'd say even haha). The staff was super friendly and not in a forced way. They absolutely enjoyed their job and were very hospitable. They were genuinely interested in us and in the service. The place is located in the middle of a lot of nature, which i personally really loved. The restaurant and bar were really nice. The rooms are quite okay, although the bathrooms are a bit old. The owner does want to work on this. This is also the case for the swimming pool, you can still use it, but it needs some work on. This is also on the project list of the owner. A simple yet great moment during our safari - food was amazing (fruits, meat, breakfast) - the rooms were simple but very clean and very comfortable - cozy bar and atmosphere - staff was stunningly kind and helpful

We were 13 members of my family and had been on Safari for some days, when we arrived to Karatu and Octagon Lodge in the early afternoon. The hotel is not new and the garden is well grown into a small paradise.

Very good food clean rooms and nice staff only bathrooms where a bit dirty which was alright. They provided us with a very good lunch box for our safari. There was a good wifi connection and the free wifi was very good! Would recommend

A piece of heaven on earth. The lodge is simply beautiful, and the service was excellent. The rooms are large and comfortable, they have their ow garden and the food was fresh and delicious! The employees were all super friendly and went out of their way to make us feel as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend the Octagon lodge.

Octagon lodge is the perfect solution during Safari experience, situated near Ngorongoro Park, Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park, is the best place place to relax after a day of Safari. The accommodation is lovely with all the facilities that you might need, food is excellent and the staff is extraordinary, kind and friendly. It has been like home.

Amazing Lodge to explore the many Nationalparks nearby. Emanuel & Paulo from the team are the most amazing and friendly and will make your stay most enjoyable. The whole place is in a beautiful garden and you will live in nice houses in the middle of nature. Can only recommend.

Ishmael was an exceptional host. He went above and beyond. The accommodations, food and grounds were unique. Ben a the chef was amazing. Staff were all customer centric and there reason was for you to experience the best time. I miss the food and service already. It will always be the highlight of my experience in preparing for my 3 day Safari. A well run hotel that is truly unique.

We stayed only one night at Octagon Lodge during our Safari. + staff was really friendly + breakfast and dinner were really good they have a small buffet for breakfast but they will also bring you fresh vegetables, pancakes, eggs and sausages to your table + nice tropical atmosphere + the lodge was guarded 24 hours (we don’t know why) but we felt very safe - the only negative thing is it was really cold in the rooms when we stayed there (July22) we slept with hoodies and jackets + staff served us hot soup and provided us with hot water bottles to keep us warmer during the night this helped quite a bit

The gardens are pretty, the rooms are just ok, but they never came to clean the room, we had to ask for some new towels. The beds are a bit hard and not too comfortable. And it is very cold in the rooms, too cold to be comfortable! Staff is friendly. Food is not too good, just ok. It was very cold in the evenings and we had to take dinner outside with all our jackets on in order not to freeze. Would not recommend it.
