Very atmospheric and relaxing environment with delicious food, huge, comfortable rooms and bathrooms and stunning views from the balcony. There's even a fireplace in the room to make your stay as relaxing as possible. In the morning, during the breakfast, they provide paper boxes and properly packed food so that you can compile your own lunch box (if you are amidst your safari adventure).

We stayed at this lodge 2 nights. It 'a structure of excellent standard, well maintained and cared for in every corner, from the restaurant to the pool. The paths that give access to the rooms wind through a lush and colorful green, perfectly cared for. Our room was really very spacious, colonial style, with a nice porch at the entrance; the beds are equipped with mosquito nets, as well as all the windows. At the restaurant, great service and very good food. All staff, in general, were always very friendly and helpful. Definitely a great structure, which I recommend.

Very nice lodge with beautiful garden and pool. The rooms in the individual bungalows were very nice and large and equipped with everything necessary. The food offered for diner and breakfast were fine . Only in the dining room was a rather loud soundscape.

The grounds are nicely manicured and the rooms are large and comfortable but we would have preferred a king size bed rather than 2 doubles, one of which represented simply wasted space. The buffet style food was consistently average and quite oily with very limited salad offerings - not as good as other lodges we visited. The WiFi was available only in a small area near the restaurant and bar and was often frustratingly slow. Still water was charged extra and not provided with meals. Why not have a filtered water station in the bar/restaurant where guests are able to refill containers as needed. The reception area could also do with a makeover as it was quite dark, gloomy and uninviting. Had we not been on an organized tour, with pre-selected hotels we would not have booked this location.

This lodge is situated a short distance from Ngorongoro Crater. The structure is spacious and welcoming, well furnished and clean. There is a living area with bars and sofas, both indoors and outdoors and a large dining room. Outside the garden is very nice, with a beautiful swimming pool and sun loungers. The room is huge, with a balcony overlooking the vegetation, two very comfortable double beds and with the presence of mosquito net. The bathroom is spacious, equipped with hairdryer and toiletries. Impeccable cleanliness. Staff very friendly and helpful. The restaurant offers very hearty and tasty meals and a buffet breakfast with a wide range of products. Also very careful about gluten free speech. Possibility of massages and body treatments on request.

We stayed here just one night before entering the Serengeti NP. The lodge is accessed along a dirt road and on arrival we were greeted with cool towels and a welcome drink. The staff were helpful and efficient at check in and check out. The lodge is set amidst manicured gardens and a pool. The rooms are duplex bungalow style with a balcony overlooking more rural views. From our room we could see Weaver birds entering and emerging from their nests. The room was spotlessly clean with flowers on the duvet. The bedding was crisp white cotton sheets, duvets and blankets if needed. A wood fire was available for cold nights (not needed yet) and comfy chairs. The en suite was adequate with plenty of hot water, toiletries and towels. Dinner and breakfast were both buffet style with a satisfactory range of food presented. Beetroot soup was served to table. The bar was comfortable for a drink and prices not excessive. We had time after arriving to visit a coffee plantation with a guided tour followed by tasting. Overall, a comfortable lodge for an overnight stay.

After a day at Lake Manyara National Park we arrived at the Marera Lodge, which immediately struck us with its elegant but comfortable environment, the lush garden, the very large and welcoming room with a balcony with a view, the pleasant common areas and the relaxing swimming pool with sunbeds and umbrellas. Free Wi-Fi in common areas, bar open all day, dinner at the main restaurant (from 7pm to 9pm) served as a buffet with good quality of food and service. The room is a real apartment in size, equipped with every comfort (bathroom with hairdryer, safe, laundry service, kettle for tea and coffee...). Absolutely recommended, it's a shame we only spent 2 nights there (1 on departure and 1 on return) and didn't enjoy much of the peace of the place...

We would highly recommend the Marera Valley Lodge in Karatu - the whole site is beautifully presented and well kept and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The bungalows are beautiful and have everything that you need for your stay. The Lodge is conveniently placed for visiting the Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Conservation area. The food is fantastic - some nights it's table service from a set menu and others it's a buffet, both are incredibly tasty and great even for a vegetarian. Also great options from the buffet for breakfast, including freshly cooked fried eggs/omelettes and scrambled eggs. The bungalows that are further away from the communal areas don't keep wifi access but there is plenty of comfortable seating in the bar area and on the covered patio if you need internet access. The pool area is wonderful if you have any down time in between day trips. Would like to say a big thank you for all of the members of staff who gave us such a memorable stay.

Great hotel. We spent 3 nights there. Quiet, pleasant surroundings and beautiful rooms. All the staff are top notch. For our last day we were treated to a personalized cake (at the request of our guide) brought by the singing and dancing restaurant staff. I advise. thanks to the whole team

Marera Valley Lodge was a refreshing change from tented camps, offering a relaxing pool area to unwind by. The grounds were lovely, and the amenities were nice, but the service didn’t quite meet the high standard set by other lodges we stayed at. Additionally, the overly starched bed sheets detracted from the comfort of the rooms. That said, it was still a pleasant place to stay and provided a nice break in the middle of our safari adventure.
